ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT UNDER CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMME BY CENTRAL ARMED POLICE FORCES

(A) Programmes undertaken by Rifles (i) Medical Camps. Continuing with its endeavor to provide medical care and access to medicines to people living in remote areas, the have been organizing medical camps in areas where adequate health care facilities are not available to C o n t e n t s the villagers. Twelve medical camps were conducted by various units of the force in the NE Region during the month of March, ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT UNDER CIVIC ACTION 2015. Madhusmita Baruah, a 22-year old student from Assam, has recently won a gold medal at the 3rd International Strength Lifting and Incline Benchpress Championship held at Manama in Bahrain. Madhusmita, who is a farmer’s daughter from Chungi Lahing Village in Jorhat, is a source of inspiration for many in the region. Hailing from a poor family, Madhusmita was helped by the financial support from Nakachari Sports Association, village authority, Jorhat Power lifting Association and local people. Madhusmita said that she is happy to have made India and Assam proud at the international level. “I am very happy. I am happy that I have brought laurel for Assam and India at international level and also made my college proud,” she said. her as ‘Mary Kom of Jorhatian’.
