1 FFA Cup 2019 Competition Guide CONTENTS Page Information, fixtures, results 2 Clubs 5 History and records 25 FFA CUP Web: www.theffacup.com.au Facebook: facebook.com/ffacup Twitter: @FFACup The FFA Cup is a national knockout competition run by Football Federation Australia (FFA) in conjunction with the State and Territory Member Federations. A total of 737 clubs entered the FFA Cup 2019, a number that has significantly grown from the first edition of the FFA Cup in 2014, when 617 clubs entered. The FFA Cup 2019 started in February with the Preliminary Rounds to determine the 21 clubs from the semi-professional and amateur tiers. These clubs joined ten of the Hyundai A-League clubs (Western United FC will not participate in this edition) and the reigning National Premier Leagues Champions (Campbelltown City SC) in the Final Rounds. The FFA Cup Final 2019 will be played on Wednesday 23 October with the host city to be determined by a live draw. Each cup tie must be decided on the day, with extra time to decide results of matches drawn after 90 minutes, followed by penalties if required. At least one Member Federation club is guaranteed to progress to the Semi Finals. Previous winners of the FFA Cup are Adelaide United (2014 and 2018), Melbourne Victory (2015), Melbourne City FC (2016) and Sydney FC (2017). Broadcast partners – FOX SPORTS FOX SPORTS will again provide comprehensive coverage of the FFA Cup 2019 Final Rounds. The FFA Cup’s official broadcaster will show one LIVE match per match night from the Round of 32 onwards, while providing coverage and updates, as well as live streams, of non-broadcast matches. -
Media Release
Media Release World Leagues Forum Schützengasse 4 8001 Zürich Switzerland The World Leagues Forum: “Domestic leagues unanimously reject the super league concept but also request better representation in the football governance” Zurich, Switzerland – 23 April 2021 – Following the recent events on the European breakaway league, the board of the World Leagues Forum (WLF), the association which represents professional football leagues on a world level met today. This board includes the following leagues: Premier League (England), Ligue de Football Professionnel (France), DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga (Germany), Lega Serie A (Italy), Russian Premier League (Russia), LaLiga (Spain), Premier League Soccer (South Africa), LigaPro (Ecuador), Major League Soccer (USA), Liga MX (Mexico), J.League (Japan) and Professional Saudi League (Saudi Arabia). The WLF issues the following statement: “The World Leagues Forum not only rejects the concept of the super league, but also requests better representation of the leagues in football governance. This is the consequence of the lessons which can be drawn from this week’s events: One: The European super league project reflected the money-driven vision a small group of already super rich clubs. This vision has been rejected by everyone in football and outside football. But most importantly, it has been rejected by the fans. It has shown that sport values such as sporting merit and solidarity must always prevail. Two: Any international competition where some clubs would have a permanent right to play without qualifying from domestic leagues is a terrible idea. Not only it disregards the values of sport, but it neglects the importance of domestic competitions from an historical, from an economic, and from a fan perspective. -

DATE: 20 September, 2016 TO: NNSW NPL License Applicants FROM: NNSWF CEO, David Eland SUBJECT: NNSWF Men’S Premier Competitions
MEMO DATE: 20 September, 2016 TO: NNSW NPL License Applicants FROM: NNSWF CEO, David Eland SUBJECT: NNSWF Men’s Premier Competitions I write on behalf of Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) Board of Directors to advise the Board’s determinations relating to the structure and composition of NNSWF’s Male Premier Competitions from 2017. Detail follows; 1. Management has been authorised to execute participation agreements with the following ten (10) clubs with respect to the NNSW PS4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) for a maximum of three seasons commencing in 2017. Adamstown Rosebud FC Broadmeadow Magic FC Charlestown City Blues FC Edgeworth Eagles FC Hamilton Olympic FC Lake Macquarie City FC Lambton Jaffas FC Maitland FC Valentine FC Weston Workers FC The Newcastle Jets Youth and Emerging Jets have been afforded the opportunity to continue competing in the NPL in accordance with Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) directive and PS4 NPL National Operational Guidelines. Lake Macquarie City FC’s inclusion in the NPL is reflective of the standard of the club’s application and performance in the First Division in 2016. A well-established youth structure, which has been participating in the top divisions of the Interdistrict Competition, will facilitate the club’s seamless transition to the NPL. NNSWF Male Premier Competitions 2017-2019 Page 1 MEMO The stated clubs’ continued participation in the NPL throughout the license period is subject to the terms of the Participation Agreement. The NPL is not subject to promotion and relegation throughout the stated license period; however NNSWF at its absolute discretion in accordance with Clause 3 c) of the Participation Agreement may review and vary the competition structure and format during the license period including the number of competing clubs.
