Original Music composed by Jon English and Charlie Hull Jon English was a versatile popular singer, entertainer, stage and television actor especially active and prominent in Australia the 1970s and 1980s. As well as appearing in stage shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, and being the lead actor in the major hit in the television series for the Seven, Against the Wind, he also carved a name for himself doing Gilbert and Sullivan, most notably the pirate king in the Pirates of Penzance. He has a detailed wiki here. As well as composing the music for the film, English appeared in a supporting role. (Below: Jon English showing his moves in the film) Charlie Hull began his professional music career in Sydney in the early 1970s, and he was appointed Musical Director for Marcia Hines in 1979. There is a short biography for him at time of writing, here and here, where he is listed as one of Marcia Hines band members. His list of credits as Musical Director and/or Arranger include the premiere stage productions in Australia of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Dusty The Musical, FloorPlay, Saturday Night Fever, Hair, Footloose, Leader Of The Pack, Shout, Oh What A Night, Fame, Jesus Christ Superstar, Burn, The Floor, Rasputin, big Sister and Great Expectations. Charlie studied piano and arranging at the Sydney Conservatorium and jazz piano with Roy Maling. He joined the Daly Wilson Big Bad as arranger and pianist until his appointment as Musical Director for Marcia in 1979. Charlie was musical coordinator of two albums for Marcia in the UK and co-produced the album "Jokers & Queens" for Jon English and Marcia in Australia. He is currently Musical Director for all Marcia's live performances. His international credits include Priscilla Queen Of The Desert London West End - from 2008 - still running Priscilla Queen Of The Desert Toronto 2010, Broadway NYC 2011 Burn The Floor 2000-2011 in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Arranging for television include all productions of Australian Idol, Starstruck, Magical Tales. He has complemented all his experience and expertise by continually studying the latest advances in computerised music recording techniques, and by acquiring state of the art digital musical equipment. He now manages his own recording studio, Ritzy Studioz, and is considered an expert in the latest music technology.
