Instructions for Accessing the Epic PLA Environment from Home Using the Jefferson Remote Access Portal (RAP) IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST be logged on to RAP for this to work! We apologize for the multiple steps, but this process should work for you to be able to access and practice in the Epic PLA environment. IS&T is working to have a simpler solution in place when we go live with Epic in November. This document assumes: You have an active, properly configured, RAP account You are using Windows 10 You are using Internet Explorer 11 (NOTE: do NOT use Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome , or Firefox.) TIP: If you cannot find your IE 11 launch icon, type “Internet Explorer” in the search box at the left lower corner of your taskbar, and then click on “Internet Explorer – Desktop app” 1) Log on to RAP using the “Connect.tjuh.org” web address. Once you are logged in, launch the “TJUH Intranet” from the right-hand panel. 2) From the Clinician Page, launch “Epic Hyperspace” 3) A popup may appear where it tells you that it wants to install and then configure an Online Plug-in 4) During installation, I got this error message. However, I clicked “Cancel” … 5) And then clicked “OK” in the box that followed … 6) That brought me to a screen that asked me to install Citrix Receiver. Click the “I agree” checkbox and then install the app. 7) When the dialog box appears at the bottom of your browser, Click “Run” 8) And work your way through the usual dialog boxes… 9) After completing the installation, it should bring you to a log on page. NOTE: On one machine I configured (but not another), I got this screen… 10) And I got this error message when I clicked “Log On” 11) If that happens to you, click on the “Try another logon option” link, and it should bring you to the following log on screen. NOTE: You MUST enter your campus key with your appropriate domain of either “tju-mst\” or “tjuh-mst\” preceding your campus key, as in the example below. 12) You should now be brought to this screen. Try clicking on the “Epic” icon. Some users report that this successfully launches the Epic application for them. However, if Epic FAILS to launch, and you get an error message, then click on the button that says “Details”. (Don’t worry, you’re almost there…) 13) Click on the link in the upper right corner that has your log on name and select “Activate” 14) You will get a dialog at the BOTTOM of the page. Select “Save and open”. 15) Select “Add” 16) The Citrix Receiver app should now open, and ask you to enter your password. For security reasons on a home computer, please DO NOT select “Remember my password”. 17) At this point, Citrix should load a link to your Windows Start Menu 18) Click on this link in your Start Menu. You should now be able to launch Hyperspace for the PLA environment from your home computer. NOTE: The link from the intranet page NOT launch the Epic application. You MUST use the link in your Start Menu. REMEMBER: You MUST be logged on to RAP for this link to work! .
