RAD Sim Tools' Telemetry Wins Support from VBS3 Developers At For Immediate Release RAD Sim Tools’ Telemetry wins For Press Queries: Bohemia Interactive Simulations support from VBS3 developers at Phone: +420 226 219 964 [email protected] www.bisimulations.com Bohemia Interactive Simulations https://store.bisimulations.com/ www.facebook.com/bisimulations Bohemia Interactive Simulations has been using Telemetry from RAD Sim Tools as part of their VBS3 development process. The results are in, and the team verdict is “awesome!” The BISim developers have used Telemetry extensively with exclusively positive results. Telemetry is a powerful profiling tool for all scripters and VBSFusion developers. It enables you to find logjams in scripts and plug-ins much more easily than before, and helps you optimize and understand your script’s or plug-in’s performance. Script profiling allows you to track performance bottlenecks within scripts, and makes it possible to see how much time was spent in different parts of the script. Our Telemetry integration allows you to see other parameters, such as which frame was the script started and when it was finished, how many frames the execution took, or how many times a selected part of the script was executed. Exactly the same profiling is now available for VBSFusion plug-ins as well. Mark Dzulko, CTO, BISim said “The use of Telemetry has provided us with critical profiling information to identify performance issues early in the development process for VBS3. It is great that our VBSDN customers can now benefit from the same tools that we are using for development internally.” Both script and plug-in profiling can work together and the results can be examined in the Telemetry visualizer at once; Telemetry is a performance visualizer, so all of your performance information is presented graphically, in an intuitive way. The high-level visualization means that the whole team, not just programmers, can contribute to optimization. Artists, designers and testers can now correlate application state with performance. Telemetry’s visualization makes it clear what factors are causing a dip in performance, whether it be too many lights, AI pathing nodes, sound sources, particles, etc. The whole team can work on performance independently. Halldor Fannar, CTO at Crowd Control Productions stated, “During our integration of Telemetry, the software kept revealing performance bottlenecks in our products we didn’t even know existed. The designers of Telemetry understand that visualizing large and complex performance data sets is the key to understanding performance problems--and they have solved that problem elegantly.” RAD Sim Tools, their Telemetry tool, and the rest of their product suite will be at the Bohemia Interactive Simulations booth #2439 at I/ITSEC 2013, as well as available to purchase through their online store at https://store.bisimulations.com About RAD Sim Tools: RAD Sim Tools is a privately-held, simulation and video game middleware developer located in Kirkland, Washington. Founded in 1988, RAD first gained prominence from its popular Smacker video codec in 1993. In 1999, RAD introduced Bink Video (the codec that has been used in more than 6,000 video games), and later, the Granny 3D animation toolkit, the Iggy User Interface, and the Telemetry Performance Visualization tool. About BISim: BISim is a world leader in providing simulation technologies for government and commercial organizations. With origins in the gaming industry, BISim repeatedly delivers high-fidelity, low-cost, disruptive technology into the virtual simulation domain. BISim successfully exploits the stunning visuals of game-based technology, and applies this to a range of breakthrough training and simulation products. A Important Health Warning: Photosensitive Seizures A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people with no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games. Symptoms can include light-headedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, momentary loss of awareness, and loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents, watch for or ask children about these symptoms—children and teenagers are more likely to experience these seizures. The risk may be reduced by being farther from the screen; using a smaller screen; playing in a well-lit room, and not playing when drowsy or fatigued. If you or any relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. © 2019 The Codemasters Software Company Limited (“Codemasters”). For replacement console and accessory manuals, go to www.xbox.com/support. Important Health Warning About Playing Video Games Photosensitive seizures A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including fl ashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games. These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms— children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; use a smaller screen; play in a well-lit room; do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.
