RADYR CHAIN Free to every home in Radyr and Morganstown Number 240 February 2019 Lighting of Station Road Early on the morning of December 7th Santa let us know that the winds were too high for him to risk bringing his sleigh out that night. Everything was consequently cancelled or at least scaled back, which was just as well as as the wind was too high for the stalls to put up awnings and at the moment the lights were due to be switched on the heavens opened and we had a downpour. Some intrepid people went on and members of the three school choirs sang carols under the Christmas tree in Windsor Gardens and in the Methodist Church. The Methodist also had a a good turn out for their puppet show. It was the first time that the Christmas tree lighting has had to be cancelled in more than ten years. The pictures show the lights on the rain soaked Station Road and members of the School Choirs under the Christmas tree. Alzheimers Concert The Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir gave a sell out concert at Christ Church Radyr, on January 19th. Proceeds went to the Alzheimer's Society Cymru and was supported by Christ Church and Redrow Homes. It raised £2,875 for this important charity.
