Housestjärnan Style of Eye På Sverigeturné 2015-03-31 11:49 CEST Housestjärnan Style of Eye på Sverigeturné En av landets största houseartister ger sig i april ut på en Sverigeturné. P3 Guld- och Manifest-vinnaren Style of Eye är känd för sin förmåga att komponera stora hits och att skapa “ett vansinnigt röj” (Joyzine) på dansgolvet. Han är helt enkelt ett “fullblodsproffs”, som Sundsvalls tidning uttrycker det. Just nu är Style of Eye aktuell med singeln "More Than a Lover” och är ute på en USA-turné som ena halvan av superduon Galantis. Den 5 april är det turnépremiär för Style of Eyes exklusiva klubbspelningar på Verandan i Åre innan han fortsätter till Enköping, Luleå, Sundsvall, Västerås, Gävle och Helsingborg. Housestjärnan Style of Eye är en hett eftertraktad dj med hela världen som sin arbetsplats. I höstas släppte han sitt andra album ”Footprints”, som grammisnominerades till Årets elektro/dans och bland annat innehåller singlarna ”Kids”, ”Louder”, ”Love Looks” och senaste "More Than a Lover” med Anna Ståhl på sång. Även debutskivan “Duck, Cover & Hold” Grammis-nominerades och belönades även med pris för Årets Dansartist på P3 Guld och Årets Dans på Manifestgalan. 2013 producerade och skrev Style Of Eye Icona Pops megahit "I Love It" som sålts i över två miljoner exemplar i USA och låg etta i Storbritannien och på topp tio-listor i 14 länder. Samma år gjorde han även låten "Taken Over” åt Rebecca & Fiona, som blev en av årets mest spelade låtar på P3 2013. Style of Eye är också en del av superduon Galantis tillsammans med Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson från Miike Snow. De slog igenom 2014 med den självbetitlade debut-EP:n och har bland annat skapat megahiten "Runaway (U&I)” som har över 43 miljoner spelningar på Spotify. Just nu är de ute på en turné i USA och i sommar släpper de sitt debutalbum. Efter USA-turnén med Galantis kommer Style of Eye hem till Sverige och gör en serie exklusiva klubbspelningar med start i april.     An undiscovered island. An epic journey. An illustrious ship. Known just by its name and its logo, GALANTIS could be all or none of these things. A Google search only turns up empty websites and social pages, and mention of a one-off A-Trak collaboration. Is it beats? Art? Something else entirely? At the most basic level, GALANTIS is two friends making music together. The fact that they’re Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow, aka Style of Eye, is what changes the plot. The accomplished duo’s groundbreaking work as GALANTIS destroys current electronic dance music tropes, demonstrating that emotion and musicianship can indeed coexist with what Eklow calls “a really really big kind of vibe.” “GALANTIS is about challenging, not following.” says Karlsson. Karlsson should know about shaking things up. As half of production duo Bloodshy & Avant, he reinvented pop divas like Madonna, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue in the early 2000s. He co-wrote and produced Spears’ stunning, career-changing single “Toxic” to the tune of a 2005 Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. Since then he’s been breaking more ground as one-third of mysterious, jackalobe-branded band Miike Snow.     Bio: Seng Wei was indoctrinated in the electronic dance music scene whilst still a student in university in L.A. Since graduating and returning to Singapore in late 2003, he started DJing as a hobby. Gradually, Seng Wei's devotion and passion for the electronic music scene escalated into something more as he gained experience playing out at clubs and various outdoor events. He bought his first proper dance compilation back in 99’- Clubber’s guide to Trance by ATB, which was an influential moment that saw Seng Wei branch out and start to discover other styles of dance music such as House. Seng Wei's style is deep, funky and progressive house with an infusion of tech and organic elements. Although his musical tastes are always changing; he presently is playing a lot more of the nu-disco and deep tech house sound with a touch of electro thrown in there for good measure, which is diversified and incorporated into his sets. He transcends any boundaries between the different genres of music, and really knows how to move the floor. As a DJ, he draws influences from all types of music from jazz and classical, to rock and electro and combines these different elements into his set. He believes that since music seems to be evolving all the time, the oxymoron of the new/old music (The retro/electro music of the 70s and 80s, along with the revival of jazz and classical music) is especially evident in the 21st century today and will continue to have an effect on the ever changing dance music scene in the years to come.
