Entrevista Sebastián Xottelo ..................................................... 40 PÁGINA WEB DJ SEBASTIÁN XOTTELO 5 Resumen Esta investigación da a conocer a Sebastián Xottelo, un joven dj bogotano de música electrónica, quien forma parte de los mejores de la ciudad y que actualmente, quiere aprovechar el buen momento por el que pasa su carrera para establecer su página web oficial. Convirtiéndose en el objetivo del presente trabajo, crear y diseñar un sitio web que cumpla con todas las expectativas y, que ayude a incrementar no sólo la actividad profesional del dj sino el número de seguidores. Además, recopila información sobre la música electrónica y su auge como nueva tendencia musical a nivel mundial. Resalta a Bogotá como plaza importante para este género en Latinoamérica y la visita a la capital de importantes exponentes internacionales de la electrónica. PÁGINA WEB DJ SEBASTIÁN XOTTELO 6 Antecedentes Del Problema La electrónica es considerada por conocedores de la música como la corriente que gracias, a los recursos tecnológicos y digitales en producción de sonidos y edición se difundido con mayor rapidez durante lo corrido del siglo XXI. Discotecas y festivales al aire libre son escenarios ideales para disfrutar este tipo de música. Latinoamérica no se ha quedado atrás de esta influencia, no solo por los grandes espectáculos realizados en diferentes partes del continente sino por los talentos que cada día toman más fuerza en la escena electrónica mundial. Colombia ha sido plaza de múltiples conciertos de electrónica, por ejemplo, Cartagena fue sede de un importante evento, el Summerland Festival a principios de 2013, que según reseño la Revista Shock (2012, noviembre 29) fue uno de los festivales más grandes en la historia de la electrónica en Colombia, con un concepto escenográfico y de producción único1, escenario que contó con la participación de los Djs David Guetta y Tiesto. Bogotá, también es punto de referencia y esto se ve reflejado en la cantidad de artistas internacionales que han visitado la capital, algunos de los más destacados son: Dj Tiesto, quien en los últimos años, ha venido en repetidas 1(2012, noviembre 29) Summerland 2013 con Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto y David Guetta. En 2012, el duo Pleasurekraft, artistas revelación de 2011, se presentaron en un prestigioso bar de la capital.4 También, tocaron en la ciudad el italiano Marco Carola, el español Paco Osuna y el estadounidense Ambivalent.     Bio: Seng Wei was indoctrinated in the electronic dance music scene whilst still a student in university in L.A. Since graduating and returning to Singapore in late 2003, he started DJing as a hobby. Gradually, Seng Wei's devotion and passion for the electronic music scene escalated into something more as he gained experience playing out at clubs and various outdoor events. He bought his first proper dance compilation back in 99’- Clubber’s guide to Trance by ATB, which was an influential moment that saw Seng Wei branch out and start to discover other styles of dance music such as House. Seng Wei's style is deep, funky and progressive house with an infusion of tech and organic elements. Although his musical tastes are always changing; he presently is playing a lot more of the nu-disco and deep tech house sound with a touch of electro thrown in there for good measure, which is diversified and incorporated into his sets. He transcends any boundaries between the different genres of music, and really knows how to move the floor. As a DJ, he draws influences from all types of music from jazz and classical, to rock and electro and combines these different elements into his set. He believes that since music seems to be evolving all the time, the oxymoron of the new/old music (The retro/electro music of the 70s and 80s, along with the revival of jazz and classical music) is especially evident in the 21st century today and will continue to have an effect on the ever changing dance music scene in the years to come.
