Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate Examination Results and University Destinations Examination Results Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate is an Excellent rated group of schools, across all schools and areas (ISI 2019). The ISI praised the pupils’ outstanding academic achievements and personal development, saying that, exam “performance has been well above the national average for maintained schools.” “Pupils achieve very high standards in their GCSE, IGCSE, BTEC and A-level examinations and make excellent progress across all areas of learning throughout their time in the school.” In 2019, students in the academically-focused College achieved 80% A*/A at A Level (92% A*/B) and 94% D*/D in the small number of BTECs taken to enrich the A-level programmes (equivalent in university points to A* and A grades at A-Level). The Faculty, which offers a wider range of academic, creative and vocational courses, achieved 70% A*/A at A Level (93% A*/B) and 82% D*/D in BTECs. Across national league tables, the A-level results for both the College and the Faculty have been in the top 20 schools in the country over last few years. Queen Ethelburga’s College and Faculty have also been named first and ninth respectively in the independent secondary schools list for the North of England, by Parent Power - The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2019. The guide identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranked by their recent examination results. Sunday Times “Parent Power” League table.
