More information and registration Venture Capital Xeltis in third round funding led by Ysios Capital , Life Sciences Partners, VI Partners and Kurma Partners On 15/11/17 it was announced that Xeltis AG, the Zurich, Switzerland based medical implant developer, has received EUR 45 million in third round (Series C) financing. The round was led by Ysios Capital Partners SGECR SA, Life Sciences Partners BV. Kurma Partners SA, VI Partners AG and Xeltis' existing investors also participated. Investors included Migros Genossenschafts-Bund. The funds will reportedly be used to improve emmasbox's product. Source: Zephyr Oviva has received funding in a series A funding round On 20/11/17 it was announced that Oviva AG, a Zurich, Switzerland-based mobile nutritional treatment programs application provider, has received USD 12 million in a series A (1st) funding round, from Albion Capital Group LLP, Eight Roads Capital Advisors (UK) Ltd, Impresa Management LLC (trades as F-Prime Capital Partners), Partech Partners SAS and Walking Ventures. Source: Zepyhr ScanTrust has secured an investment led by Credit Suisse's subsidiary SVC On 15/11/17 it was announced that ScanTrust SA, a Lausanne, Switzerland-based physical goods authentication and counterfeit goods identification software developer has secured an investment of USD 4.2 million as a part of Series A (1st) development capital round led by wholly-owned subsidiary of Credit Suisse, SVC - AG für KMU Risikokapital (trades as SVC-Ltd). Other investors included innogy Ventures GmbH, venture capital arm of innogy SE, Castor Ventures, ID Capital Pte Ltd, SOSV Investments LLC, Privilege Management SA and undisclosed strategic investors. Source: Zephyr read more Semma Therapeutics secures series B funding led by Eight Roads and Cowen Healthcare Investment On 30/11/17 it was announced that Semma Therapeutics Inc., a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based stem cell-derived diabetes islet therapy research and development services company, has secured USD 114 million in series B (second round) funding co-led by Eight Roads Services UK Ltd and Healthcare Royalty Partners (also known as Cowen Healthcare Investments), with participation from existing investors including Novartis AG. Source: Zepyhr BOW Group receives an investment from NextStage and Philip Morris International in a series B funding round On 14/11/17 it was announced that Groupe BOW, a Luxenberg-based online smartwatch and fitness tracker retailer, has received an investment in a series B (2nd) funding round from NextStage and PM Equity Partner Sarl, the corporate venture fund managed by Philip Morris International Inc. With a CHF 1.2 million contribution, investiere.ch was the largest investor in this round. This sum came from private investors as well as from Nest, the first Swiss pension fund to systematically invest in Swiss startups. For this, Nest is relying on the expertise and experience of investiere.ch. The Barcelona-based startup raised funds from two VC funds, investiere.ch as well as numerous business angels, including travel.ch founder Roland Zeller. read more Private Equity – Swiss News Avaloq agrees in principle to buy remaining ARIZON stake On 17/11/17 it was stated that Avaloq Group AG has entered into a memorandum of understanding to acquire the remaining 51 per cent stake it does not already hold in ARIZON Sourcing AG, a St Gallen, Switzerland-based online retail banking platform development joint venture company from Raiffeisen Schweiz Genossenschaft. The transaction is due to be completed as of 01/01/19. Concurrently, it was announced that Warburg Pincus LLC is acquiring Raiffeisen Schweiz's 10 per cent stake in Avaloq. Source: Zephyr read more Ufenau Capital Partners, via Swiss IT Security, acquires execure from Mr Philipp Stebler On 28/11/17 it was announced that on 13/11/17 execure AG, a Wettingen, Switzerland-based IT security consultancy services provider, has been acquired from founder Mr Philipp Stebler, by Swiss IT Security AG, a new holding company majority-owned by Ufenau Capital Partners and part-owned by Mr Philipp Stebler. Swiss IT Security will now look for acquisitions. Source: Zephyr read more Altice offloads Swiss ops to InfraVia French infrastructure-focused investor InfraVia Capital Partners is acquiring green.ch and Green Datacenter from Altice for an enterprise value of EUR 183m as the Dutch company tries to deleverage. The deal for the Swiss telecommunications business and data centre operations equates to a multiple of 9.9x adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation for the last 12 months.
