Oldhall West is located on the east side of the A78 amongst a variety of industrial uses including waste management, manufacturing and life sciences operators such as North Ayrshire Council, Lowmac, UPM Caledonian and Glaxo Smithkline. Irvine lies within the North Ayrshire region around 30 miles south west of Glasgow and 15 miles north of Ayr. The former New Town has a population of over 40,000 persons and is well connected on to the national road network lying at convergence of the A78, A737, A767 and A71 road routes providing good road access to Greenock, Ayr, Kilmarnock and Glasgow. Prestwick Airport is located 7 miles to the south. DESCRIPTION The property comprises an irregular shaped and predominantly level industrial site taking access off Murdoch Place, bound to the north and west by industrial facilities and to the east and south by Shewalton Moor, a protected area of open ground. The property was last used as a pet crematorium and has a hazardous waste incinerator on site and three buildings – a main workshop/store with an attached office block located at the site entrance; a detached single storey office block and a large, detached former incinerator building with flue to the rear of the site. Much of the site is laid out in tarmac and concrete surfacing.
