Decision of 100Th CC (14Th & 15Th November, 2016) Regarding F 1 Decision of 100th CC (14th & 15th November, 2016) regarding approval of pharmacy institutions* * Consideration of approval of the Diploma, Degree, Pharm.D and Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate), M.Pharm and B.Pharm (Practice) course and examination in Pharmacy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A. For the approval u/s 12 "(1) In pursuance of the provisions of sub section (1) of section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948), the Pharmacy Council of India declares the course in Pharmacy (as applicable) conducted by institutions mentioned below to be an approved course of study for the purpose of admission to an approved examination in Pharmacy (as applicable) in respect of number of students and academic session as specified here under: (2) In pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948), the Pharmacy Council of India declares the Examination in Pharmacy (as applicable) held by the Examining Authorities mentioned against their name, during the session mentioned to be an approved examination for the purpose of qualifying for registration as a Pharmacist under the said Act.” B. The approval is subject to - a) the institution shall submit SIF every year as per the Time-Schedule prescribed by the Council. b) the institution shall submit annual affiliation fee on or before due date. c) the institution shall appoint the teaching faculty with the qualification and experience as prescribed under the “Minimum Qualification for Teachers in Pharmacy Institutions Regulations, 2014”. C. Besides above conditions, institutions seeking approval of Pharm.D / Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) course shall comply with the following conditions - 1. The institution shall comply with the requirements of Pharm.D. Regulations, 2008 particularly regarding appointment of teaching staff, equipments and Hospital facility. 2. Further the PCI recommends that Pharmacy Practice Faculty including HOD shall undergo at least 1 Continuing Education Programme / Training Programme of minimum 3 days duration every year and participation in atleast one seminar/conference every year. 3. In view of above, it was decided to ask the institutions concerned to intimate the council per return of mail the number of such Continuing Education Programmes / Training Programmes / Seminar / Conference etc. attended by HOD and pharmacy practice faculty during the last one year with documentary evidence i.e. participation certificate etc. 4. The institution to submit full compliance of the Pharm.D Regulations, 2008 as per following details:- Training of HOD of Pharmacy Practice Department and Pharmacy Practice Faculty The HOD & the faculty of Pharmacy Practice Department who are not qualified with M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice Qualification or Pharm.D Qualification and have other specialized training of qualification in the Pharmacy Practice Department, shall undergo the training as per Regulations 3 vi) of Appendix–B of Pharm.D Regulations, 2008.     Solidarity Statement Against Police Brutality at Jamia Millia Islamia University and Aligarh Muslim University We, the undersigned, condemn in the strongest possible terms the police brutality in Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, and the ongoing illegal siege and curfew imposed on Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. On 15th December 2019 Delhi police in riot-gear illegally entered the Jamia Millia campus and attacked students who are peacefully protesting the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Act bars Muslims from India’s neighboring countries from the acquisition of Indian citizenship. It contravenes the right to equality and secular citizenship enshrined in the Indian constitution. On the 15th at JMIU, police fired tear gas shells, entered hostels and attacked students studying in the library and praying in the mosque. Over 200 students have been severely injured, many who are in critical condition. Because of the blanket curfew and internet blockage imposed at AMU, we fear a similar situation of violence is unfolding, without any recourse to the press or public. The peaceful demonstration and gathering of citizens does not constitute criminal conduct. The police action in the Jamia Millia Islamia and AMU campuses is blatantly illegal under the constitution of India. We stand in unconditional solidarity with the students, faculty and staff of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University, and express our horror at this violent police and state action. With them, we affirm the right of citizens to peaceful protest and the autonomy of the university as a non-militarized space for freedom of thought and expression. The brutalization of students and the attack on universities is against the fundamental norms of a democratic society.
