ABOUT THE FESTIVAL (Legend/History/Myth)
The Kozhikode International Film Festival was conceived to extend the visual treat offered by brilliant national and international cinema to cinema lovers from the northern part of Kerala. Over 30 films have been screened on an average at the annual festival each year . A number of quality foreign language films have been part of the festival over its previous editions. The festival is supported by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Federation of Film Societies of India and the Calicut Press Club Film Society.

The film festival is organized on a yearly basis to cater to the vast number of cinema lovers in North Kerala. The Inaugral Function films are shown at the Tagore Theatre and some have Screening of Films also been screened at the Mananchira Square in the heart Workshops of Kozhikode city. The films include many renowned and Interactive Sessions critically acclaimed national and foreign language films Closing Ceremony touching various issues and dynamics of the human mind and society at large. Delegates to the festival are expected to acquire passes in advance.
