How To: Update Your Web Browser

To ensure you have an optimal experience with CMCU’s internet banking platform, please ensure your web browsers are up to date. Keeping your web browsers updated also offers more security for your computer and sensitive information. Click on your preferred web browser below to be directed to the updating information.

To Update Google Chrome: 1. On your computer, open Chrome 2. At the top right, click More 3. Click Update Google Chrome. If you don’t see this button, you’re on the latest version. 4. Click Relaunch The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. If you’tag">d prefer not to restart right away, click Not now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will be applied.

Get a Chrome update when available: Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer’s browser. But if you haven’t closed your browser in a while, you might see a pending update:

1. On your computer, open Chrome. 2. At the top right, look at More 3. If an update is pending, the icon will be colored: Green: An update has been available for 2 days. Orange: An update has been available for 4 days. Red: An update has been available for 7 days.

To Get the latest version of Safari for your Mac: You can keep Safari up to date by keeping macOS up to date. Update macOS and apps including Safari from the Mac App Store: 1. Check for Mac software updates by opening the App Store app on your Mac 2. Click Updates in the toolbar 3. If updates are available, click the Update buttons to download and install them.

To Keep Internet Explorer Up to Date: 1. Open your Internet Explorer browser. 2. Click the gear-wheel icon. 3. Click “About Internet Explorer.” 4. Check “Install new versions automatically.” This will automatically update any new versions of Internet Explorer as they are created.

To Check for Microsoft Edge Updates: Microsoft Edge is updated with the Windows operating system automatically. If you need to check your version, follow the steps below: 1. Click the Start button. 2. Click Settings. 3. Select “Updates & Security.” 4. Click “Windows Update: 5. Click “Check for updates” Windows will connect to Microsoft and check for updates to the operating system and software.

To Update Firefox: By default, Firefox is set to automatically update itself but you can always do a manual update: 1. Click the menu button: 2. Then click Help: 3. Select “About Firefox.” On a Mac: On the menu bar, click the Firefox menu and select About Firefox. 4. The About Firefox window will open and Firefox will begin checking for updates and downloading them immediately. You may need to restart Firefox for the update to take effect.
