The Story Coming in the Medicine Hat Tigers Are on a Two Game Saskatchewan Road Trip That Finishes Off in Prince Albert Tonight The Story Coming In The Medicine Hat Tigers are on a two game Saskatchewan road trip that finishes off in Prince Albert tonight. Last night the Tigers took on the Saskatoon Blades for the final time this season and fell 6-5. Overall the Tabbies are 29-14-1-1 and they are led by their Captain James Hamblin with 71 points (28G, 43A) and veteran forward Brett Kemp with 57 points (22G, 35A). After tonight, the Tigers’ next game will Tuesday, January 28th in Medicine Hat when they host the Swift Current Broncos. Tigers vs. Raiders The Tigers will pay a visit to the Art Hauser Centre tonight to play the Raiders. Tonight’s game will be the third meeting between these two hockey clubs this season. Medicine Hat has won both previous contests, 4-2 in November and 8-4 in December. Brett Kemp and Cole Sillinger lead the way for the Tabbies against the Raiders this season with 7 points each. Kemp has four goals and three assists while Silliner has two goals and five assists. Over the past five years, Medicine Hat is 7-6-1-0 against Prince Albert and 4-3-0-0 when playing at the Art Hauser Centre. After tonight, these two clubs will meet a final time in Medicine Hat on February 5th, 2020. View from Prince Albert Tonight’s game at the Art Hauser Centre will the Prince Albert Raiders’ second game of a four game homstand. They kicked off their homestand by defeating the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 last night. Goaltender Max Paddock stopped 30 of 32 shots faced in the contest. The Raiders are now 24-14-5-3 and they are led by Washington Capitals prospect Aliaksei Protas with 57 points (22G, 57A) and 2020 NHL Draft Eligible Ozzy Wiesblatt with 49 points (19G, 30A). After tonight’s game against Medicine Hat, the Raiders will host the Victoria Royals Wednesday and the Lethbridge Hurricanes Friday. Captain’s Corner Captain James Hamblin extending his point streak to 16 games last night with a goal and an assist, bringing his total to 28 (11G, 17A). The 20-year-old Edmonton product is the Tigers’ leading scorer with 71 points (28G, 43A). Hamblin is a diminutive offensive dynamo who leads his team with hard work and dedication. He is a two-way forward who can be relied on in any situation for the Tabbies. Look for Hamblin to create scoring opportunities in tonight’s tilt. Quick Hits Brett Kemp and Ryan Chyzowski both scored hat tricks when the Tigers took on the Raiders in December. Prior to their hat trick night, the last time the Tigers had two players score a hat trick in the same game was March 10, 2017, against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Matt Bradley and Zach Fischer each had a hat trick in the contest. Cole Sillinger had a six point night (1G, 5A) when the Tigers last met the Raiders, Dec 11, 2019. Sillinger is leading the league in rookie scoring with 46 points (18G, 28A) in 40 games played. In the first two games of their head to head battle this season, the Tigers are (4/8) 50% on the power play against the Raiders and (1/5) 80% on the penalty kill. In the 10 games the Tabbies have played so far in January, linemates James Hamblin, Corson Hopwo and Lukas Svejkovsky have 41 combined points. The Tigers’ next Never Waste a Ticket night for season ticket holders is Feb 5th, 2020. Season ticket holders can exchange any unused tickets for extra tickets to the game that night. The Tigers will be partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Southeast for a mental health awareness game Feb 5th, 2020.     ROTARY CLUB OF PRINCE ALBERT (Updated February 2021) A NEW CLUB IS BORN Back in 1919 a couple of Saskatoon Rotarians, Ben Chappell and Sherriff Calder, were delegated to make a survey of Prince Albert with a view to forming a Rotary Club. They arrived quite late one night in November, phoned Mayor Samuel McLeod, got him out of bed and went over to see him. The next morning, they met with Charlie Clare and Earnest Fox. As a result of a meeting held in the Bank of Commerce it was decided to get together a group of Prince Albert business and professional men who shared much interest and enthusiasm. This group met at the Palace of Sweets, now Wing's Café, on December 30. After due discussion the following resolution was moved by Samuel McLeod and Ray Clemons: "That the Rotary Club of Prince Albert be formed by the members present." The motion was adopted unanimously. They elected Charlie (Charles) Clare as President and Bert Pawson, Henry Hueston, George Carr and Oswald Manville as vice-presidents. So was born a club that was to play an important part in the future of Prince Albert. The new Club met weekly at the Savoy Café. From the beginning the Club prospered and expanded. On February 23, 1920 the charter list was closed with twenty-five members. On February 26, 1920 a group came up from the Saskatoon Rotary Club and the Charter, Number 619, was formally presented. I NTRODUCTION Final Report: March 2018 3 3 I NTRODUCTION Saskatoon is a growing community and is currently the 17th largest metropolitan centre in Canada with a population of over 250,000. Between 2006 and 2014, Saskatoon experienced a prolonged economic boom, with rapid growth driven by residents returning from out - of - province for unprecedented job opportunities created by a booming resource economy. Saskatchewan is rich in natural resources with uranium, oil, potash and farming representing the foundation of the region’s economy. Although the economy has slowed since 2014, the City of Saskatoon (the “City”) is planning ahead to ensure the right decisions are made now to prepare for a future population of 500,000. TCU Place and SaskTel Centre are City - owned public assembly facilities.
