Winery owner Ron Semler told Valley News Group that the company is purchasing the old Lederer ranch stables at 23130 Sherman Way in West Hills for a wine- tasting venue. The stables were built in the early 1930’s by film star Francis Lederer and his wife. They converted them into a gallery in later years, and the City of Los Angeles dedicated it as a historial landmark in 1975. Most recently it served as the Hidden Chateau & Gardens event venue. Semler and his Malibu Wines have been producing and selling wines for a dozen years. Their original wine tasting space in the hills off Kanan Road offers live music, movies on Thursday nights in the summer, and a comedy show once a month. “It’s a reasonable day or evening out,” said Semler. “You can bring your own picnic and there is no charge for admission. Relax, sit back and enjoy good wine and good fun.” He is ready to create a tasting room at the Lederer Pool to Open at Woodland Hills Park! site immediately.
