Press Note Dehradun, April 20: A team of expert plastic surgeons from America called on Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Friday. Chief Minister Bahuguna congratulating them said that they were working for a noble cause and assured them to extend all possible help from state government’s side. Chief Minister said that there was lot to be done in the field of plastic surgery and all those dedicating their services to this field deserved appreciation. He said that it would be an endeavour of the state government to ensure availability of all those equipments used in the plastic surgery in all government hospitals. He advocated organizing medical camps in remote places so that people there could avail of benefits of these camps. Chief Minister presented citation letters to Dr. Erric Mony, Dr. Deb Russi, Dr. John Pata, Dr. Annie Disnmore, Caroline Parskin and Jessica Cosco. Jaykrishna Bhaktavatsala, Country Director of Research International Centre said that the Organization had organized medical camps in all over the country in which patients with burn injuries and deformation were being treated through plastic surgery. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Yogi, Arron, Dr. Sandeep Malik and Congress leader Jay Singh. Dehradun, April 20: Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna felicitated Harish Rana, winner of National Bravery Award in 2003. Chief Minister congratulated the child and appreciated his bravery. Chief Minister said that the State Government was committed to extend all possible help to brave children. It may be noted that 13 year old Harish Rana, resident of Gram Tinwal, Patti Bhadura, Pratapnagar had saved another life from a tiger for which he was awarded National Bravery Award in year 2003 by Government of India. Also present on the occasion was MLA from Pratapnagar Vikram Singh Negi. Dehradun, Arpil 20: Very soon establishments like Adventure Sports Academy and State Hospitality Promotion Development Board would be set up which would subsequently promote Tourism activities in the state. It would also encourage production of tourism based films. The tourism would be connected with employment opportunities for the local youths. The Union Tourism Ministry would extend full support in implementing these tourism based schemes. Union Tourism Secretary RH Khwaza called on Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna at CM Residence on Friday. Chief Minister sought support from the Centre for encouragement of tourism-based activities in the state. Stating that Uttarakhand had abundant tourism destinations he said that fund from the Centre was needed for their development. He apprised that adjacent areas of Tehri Lake were needed to be developed as tourist hub and proposal was being prepared for the same. He revealed that the State Government was mulling over establishing Adventure Sports Academy and State Hospitality Promotion Development Board. With these establishments coming into existence the doors of employment opportunities would open for local youths. Besides, it would also improve economy of the state. Chief Minister said that it was an endeavour of the state government to attract maximum industrialists for investment in tourism sector in the state. He assured that a single window system would be opted to ensure convenience of the investors. He said that main aim of setting up the State Hospitality Promotion Board was to provide solution to all the problems faced by the investors in tourism sector. The chief Minister said that the plastic would be banned in all the tourist spots for which instructions were being issued to all concerned officers. In the meantime the alternative for plastic is also being looked into to avoid inconvenience of the general public. Chief Minister issued instructions to Secretary Tourism to maintain uninterrupted dialogue between State Government and the Centre for implementation of tourism based schemes. He said that trade of local interests were being encouraged and tourism based vocational training were being imparted to the youths. Asserting that Tourism was one of the major revenue generating sources for the state, Mr. Bahuguna urged the Centre to take seriously all the proposals related to tourism forwarded by the state. Also present on the occasion was Tourism Secretary SS Sandhu. .
