FILMS, TIME SLOTS AND RATES

Films produced prior to 1st January 2012 and films that were already screened at the Marché du Film are not accepted. The below screening rates apply to films of 110 minutes maximum. Films with a running time between 110 and 140 minutes will be invoiced at a fixed rate of an additional 25%. Above 140 minutes, the Marché will reserve two consecutive screening slots. Where trailers are concerned, a minimum of 25% of the screening rate will be invoiced for each film. The Marché reserves the right to schedule a trailer or a short film at the end of a feature film running less than 110 minutes. If a company wants to set up a rehearsal before its screening, the Marché du Film will invoice it at a fixed rate of 25% of the screening fee and the test will last no longer than 20 minutes. For any longer rehearsal, the test will be invoiced as a full screening slot.

Marché exhibitors benefit from a 10% discount on the screening rates (this does not apply to the extra fee for 3D glasses). French companies are invoiced with VAT. This discount does not apply to Pavilions of the Village International that is organized by the Festival de Cannes. Foreign companies that have indicated their VAT registration number (E.U. countries) or proved their affiliation with the Tax Department of their country pay the fee without taxes.

3D SCREENINGS

XPAND, the official technical partner of the Marché du Film, equips 9 screening rooms with their active 3D cinema solution: Palais I, J and K as well as Riviera 1, 2, 3, 4 and Lérins 1, 2. XPAND which was created by industry veterans in theatrical exhibition, film production and distribution is now a global provider of 3D solutions. The active glasses work on a system of alternative shutter of each eye with no alteration in the image due to a filter or any polarization. XPAND 3D technology allows 3D screenings on a regular matte white screen which guarantees perfect light uniformity and optimal brightness without any colour distortion. Only DCP JPEG2000 will be accepted for 3D screenings.

An extra fee of 100 € plus VAT per screening will be charged for 3D glasses in the Palais and the Riviera rooms. This additional fee will be equal to 150 € plus VAT in Arcades 3, Star 3, Star 4 and Olympia 3, 4, 6, 7 and 200 € plus VAT in Arcades 1 and 2, Star 1 and 2, Olympia 1 and 5. ACCESS TO ROOMS AND INFORMATION

Access to Marché du Film screenings is reserved in order of priority: 1 - To those who have a Priority access badge (with a mauve stripe) 2 - To those who have another type of Marché badge 3 - To those who have an invitation issued by the Marché du Film. The Screenings Department issues invitations and gives them in Cannes to the company representing the film. No other invitation is accepted. People with a Festival badge or with a transferable or temporary badge cannot attend the Marché screening rooms without a Marché invitation.

NEW: in 2014 journalists registered with the Festival de Cannes cannot attend the Marché screenings unless requested otherwise by the company that has reserved the screening.

IMPORTANT: under the anti-terrorist security plan, access to the Palais des Festivals and Riviera is reserved to badge holders (Festival, Marché, temporary badge or transferable pass). The invitations issued by the Marché are not sufficient to enter the buildings. If necessary, temporary Marché badges for one to three days can be bought at the “Gare Maritime”.

It is possible to change the access to screenings by informing the Screenings Department before Friday, 25 April 2014. The screening can be listed as: • “By invitation only” (invitations must be requested in advance from the Screenings Department and are collected in Cannes) • “Press allowed” • Or the screening can be totally private (secret): it is not listed in the Pocket Guide or the Dailies and not forwarded to the press

The Screenings Department immediately forwards any changes in schedule (such as title, screening room, screening time…) to the trades in Cannes. However we cannot guarantee that these changes will be included in the daily editions of all trades due to the time needed to print.

Checks at the entrance to screening rooms are carried out by Marché du Film personnel, responsible for applying both the priority access and security rules established by the Marché. All companies having reserved screenings are required to respect these rules and are, in no case whatsoever, allowed to intervene when spectators are being filtered at the entrance to rooms.

LIST OF PEOPLE ATTENDING SCREENINGS

Marché du Film personnel scans the badges at the entrance of the Marché rooms which enables individual lists to be drawn up of all those attending screenings. These lists, which include the name of the company and their details in Cannes, are available a few hours after the end of the screening on www.marchedufilm.com. However, the Marché du Film cannot be held responsible in the case where a list is not available or is incomplete and the sales company cannot request compensation.

TERMS OF CANCELLATION

• Any screening cancelled by Wednesday, 2 April 2014 will be reimbursed in full. • From Thursday, 3 April on, the screening will be partly reimbursed (15% of the amount will be withheld to cover administrative costs) but only if the slot cancelled has been taken by another company • Films selected for the Official Competition, Un Certain Regard, the Directors’ Fortnight or the Critics’ Week must first be screened within their selection. If needed the company may cancel the Marché screening and be reimbursed (85% of the amount) on condition that the screening is cancelled by Friday, 2 May 2014 at the latest. Again administrative costs (15% of the cancelled amount) will be withheld from the refund. • Any cancellation made from Saturday, 3 May onwards will be invoiced in full. CINEMA LES ARCADES: A DYNAMIC MEDIA AREA FOR YOUR FILMS

The lobby of the Cinema Les Arcades offers 8 dynamic screens to all sales agents who are presenting their film at the Marché to maximize their presence in Cannes. While waiting for the next screening, Marché and Festival attendees will benefit from the preview showing of your trailers, your line-up or the first shots of your upcoming production. The day before your screening (from 10am to 10.30pm) or on the day of your screening (from 10am on) and eventually during the whole Festival, you can promote your film by indicating the date and time of your next presentation. The Arcades lobby has been specially designed and set up with 8 screens: 6 screens of 32’’ and 2 screens of 42’’. 24 hours before your screening, your 3 minute clip will run on a continuous loop at least twice an hour (or more often depending on the space available).
