Page 1 2016 AMHS DREAM Dinner and Auction Saturday, December 3, 2016 Note from AMHS President Page 1 2016 AMHS DREAM Dinner and Auction Note from AMHS President My parents attended many Catholic school auctions over the years, with all four of their children attending Catholic middle school (Cataldo) and high school (Gonzaga Preparatory) in Spokane. As a child, I remember eagerly awaiting their return from an auction evening with the hope they would bring home something exciting or unique. More often than not my parents came home “empty handed” save for the year they surprised all of us (including themselves) by bidding on and winning an adorable Westie Terrier puppy. Regardless of their purchases, after every Cataldo or Gonzaga Prep auction my parents would reflect on how blessed they were to send their children to Catholic schools. On these evenings the community came together with the work of countless volunteers and generous patrons to support the students and programs of our schools. The energy and love displayed at the auctions reminded my parents why they sacrificed to provide the four of us with the gift of a Catholic education. On behalf of the AMHS faculty and staff I want to thank you for attending our Dream Auction. Tonight we come together as a community to celebrate, have fun, and support our students and their academic and co-curricular programs. Your generous contributions can turn our dreams into reality. The proceeds from this event will not only provide AMHS with needed resources, but will make the gift of a Catholic education possible for dozens of families. Peace, Steve Schmutz President, AMHS Saturday, December 3, 2016 Page 2 2016 AMHS DREAM Dinner and Auction Note from DREAM Auction Chairs DREAM - Daring to Reach Excellence at Archbishop Murphy Dear DREAM Auction Guests, It is our pleasure to welcome you to the December 2016 Archbishop Murphy High School DREAM Auction! We are excited to host this event at the Future of Flight, and we are honored you have chosen to join us. We hope that you will enjoy the annual celebration of our AMHS successes and of our community that makes this all possible. We truly enjoyed planning each and every detail of tonight’s event and working with our entire team to bring the DREAM Auction to you all. We are excited about hosting this event at a venue that shares a passion for science, technology engineering and math (STEM). Also, we are very grateful to all the parents, AMHS teachers and staff, students and alumni who helped bring the DREAM Auction here to this exciting venue. We appreciate all of those who contributed their time, ideas and talents to make this evening successful. Without you all, this evening would not be possible. You are an amazing group of people! Equally important, we ask you to recognize the business sponsors and individual donors who have so graciously and generously contributed to this year’s gala. We are extremely fortunate to have their support and ask that you support them in the future. As in previous years, we hope this evening gives you an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy the company of friends and join the effort to financially support our successful and ever-growing community. If you want to join the fun of planning and creating this event in the future, please let us know. We are very thankful for the generosity of the entire AMHS community. Your support tonight will provide the financial resources needed to continue and develop all of the programs offered at AMHS. For Immediate Release Date: 11 May 2020 Contact: John Yeager | 425-765-9845 | [email protected] Karen Kirby | 206-689-6359| [email protected] Sports Arena Site For New Pop-Up Donor Center in Everett Seattle Storm and Everett Silvertips Transform Angel Of The Winds Arena into Pop-Up Donor Center to Support Bloodworks Northwest and Everett Community. Everett, WA — Bloodworks Northwest is joined by the Seattle Storm and Everett Silvertips in the effort to ensure a safe and reliable community blood supply amid the COVID-19 pandemic. From May 14 – June 6, 2020, the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Angel Of The Winds Arena will be transformed into a Pop-Up Donor Center experience and a lifeline for local patients. Storm and Silvertip fans are urged to make their one-hour donation appointment today as a safe and essential action to support local patients. In accordance with current social distancing guidelines, only scheduled appointments will be allowed. No walk-ins, guests, or people under age 16 are permitted onsite. On the day of their appointment, fans are invited to wear team colors and spread the word with #WeGotThis. Every donor will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Storm and Silvertips game. Social distancing recommendations have put a strain on opportunities to donate, as traditional blood drives and bloodmobiles are temporarily unavailable. Bloodworks has turned to an innovative alternative with Pop-Up Donor Centers that are held in large venues, allowing higher level of space and safety for donors and staff. “We’re grateful to have Angel Of The Winds Arena opening its doors to Seattle Storm and Everett Silvertips fans and Snohomish County neighbors to ensure the local blood supply is ready to respond to the increased need for blood as hospitals prepare to resume elective surgeries,” said Bloodworks Northwest President & CEO Curt Bailey.

Truthfully, our house would likely resemble a forlorn junk store without the necessary and mitigating oversight of my wife. Vintage anything connotes images of nostalgia, a stroll back to the way things used to be. Better? Not necessarily, but we all love to peer into the annals of time and reflect, ponder, and contemplate. Vintage Veritas not only has an alliterative ring to it, but communicates something more meaningful. Veritas is a Latin word meaning “truth.” The pursuit of truth has been the fancy of poets, philosophers, and theologians. In John 18, where we read of the arrest of Jesus and His subsequent interrogation by the governor, Jesus boldly declares His purpose for coming into the world – to bear witness to the truth. Pilate asks, “What is truth?” While the text doesn’t indicate Pilate sought an answer from Jesus, he did then declare, “I find no guilt in this man.” As we reflect on the truth of Scripture, the embodiment of truth is indeed found in a person: our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
