Mysore Sandwich

Ingredients:

For instant Rava Idli:

 Rava 1 cup  ½ cup  Salt to taste  Water as required  Baking powder 1 tsp  Fortune Sunlite Oil for greasing

For the Mysore Masala:

 Fortune Bran Health Oil 1 tbsp  Chana 2 tbsp

 Chopped onions ¼ cup  Chopped ginger 1 tsp  Cloves of garlic 4-5  Kashmiri red chillies 5-6  Salt to taste

Steps  Technique in focus #1: To make instant idli batter, in a bowl add rava, curd, salt to taste and mix. Now add some water slowly to adjust consistency, do not make the batter very runny. Make sure there are no lumps left.  Rest the batter for 15-20 minutes.  Technique in focus #2: Steam the using a DIY idli maker. Grease some glass or ceramic bowls with Fortune Sunlite Oil and keep aside. Boil water in a shallow pan and cover it with a lid.  Technique in focus #3: Add the baking powder just before steaming & whisk well.  Now add the baking powder in the batter and give it a nice mix. Do not add the baking powder before as the batter will lose aeration. Fill the bowls half way and place in the pan. Cover with a lid and steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes.  Remove the idli bowls from the pan, set aside and cool before demoulding.  Set a pan on medium flame. Add Fortune Rice Bran Health Oil followed by chana dal, chopped onions, chopped ginger, garlic, Kashmiri red chillies, salt to taste and sauté for 4-5 minutes.  Cool down the mixture and grind it into a paste using a mixer grinder. You can add a table spoon or two of water while grinding.  Technique in focus #4: To make innovative sandwich idlis, slice the idlis from the middle and apply spoonful of the Mysore masala on one side and top with the other side.  Set a grill pan on medium flame and add a teaspoon of oil. Grill the idli sandwiches on both the sides for 2-3 minutes on each side.  Your Mysore idli sandwiches are ready to be served.
