The estate was owned by George Twisleton who became Governor of Den- bigh in 1647. (ref on Welsh Biography online) and (Carnarvonshire Pedigrees page 270) who married Mary Glyn, daughter and heiress of William Glyn of Lleuar. People Who Lived In Moelfre Fawr Census 1841 Hugh Davies,Farmer Cathrine Davies Wife , Owen,Son Catherine,Daughter Robert Hughes the poet and painter was the son of Hugh Davies, but was away at the time of the Census. Geraint Jones from the Canolfan Hannes Clynnog Fawr wrote a book on Robert Hugh- es, which includes paintings of this family and other people living in the area at that time. There was also another son called William, who is not on the census. 1851 1871 Hugh Davies Catherine Owen and Catherine are not shown on the 1861 Hugh, Catherine and their daughter are buried in the Church Yard in Llanaelhaearn.
