You can use decorative stitches, maxi stitches or monograms depending on what is available on your machine. 2) Cut out the circles and remove any excess stabilizer. Center one of your circles wrong side up into the button mold. Press the button shell in the mold. Tuck the excess fabric into the button mold. Place the button back into the mold. Press down firmly with the pusher to snap the back in place. Sewing The Pencil Case: All seam allowances are 1/2 inch unless otherwise noted 1) Fuse the décor bond centered onto the wrong side of your outer fabric pieces. Stitch your buttons onto one of the Outer Main Bag pieces. You can decorate these pieces any way you like. Ribbons, decorative stitching, embroidery, or just use a fun print. 2) Place an outer bag piece wrong sides together with a lining piece. Baste together 1/8 in around all sides. Repeat with the remaining outer bag and lining piece. Stitch piping around the outer bag pieces. 3) Cut each of the zipper panel pieces (lining and outer) in half lengthwise. This will give you two strips 1 3/4 inch wide x 10 inches long. Place the zipper right sides together with the outer fabric zipper panel piece. Place the corresponding lining piece on top of the zipper. Stitch the zipper in place using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Press open and topstitch. Repeat with the remaining two zipper panel pieces on the opposite side of the zipper. 4) Place the zipper panel right sides together with the base matching the short ends. Place the lining piece on top with the right side of the lining facing the wrong side of the zipper. Stitch both short ends with a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Turn right sides out, press and topstitch the seams. 5) Find and mark the center of the top and bottom of the main bag pieces. Find and mark the center top and bottom of the zipper band. Pin or clip one of the outer bag pieces right sides together with the zipper band clipping the curves as needed to fit. Match the top and bottom center markings first and fit in the sides. Stitch next to the piping to attach the side to the zipper panel. Before you stitch the remaining main bag piece onto the zipper panel open the zipper so that you can turn the bag right sides out. Stitch the remaining side onto the zipper panel. 6) Stitch the double fold binding onto the raw edges inside the bag. Turn the bag right sides out and press the seams into the corners of the bag.
