2 The Chicago Ridge Park District will be introducing a new format to the 2019 RAH program this school year. Parents will now have nine options to choose from when scheduling their child(ren) for RAH. Those options are listed below. The fees for the program will stay the same. Scheduling will still work the same as previous years by allowing parents to sign up on a week to week basis by making payments the Friday before the week begins. If your child is not signed up by the Friday before, there will be a $10 late sign up fee assessed. Refunds or credits will not be issued for missed days this year. 3 The Chicago Ridge Park District is now offering a preschool after care program with specialized activities for children in preschool. While our curriculum is structured, its flexible framework encourages children to socialize, explore and discover. It is designed to provide a well-rounded experience through arts and crafts, music, cooking activities, learning centers, and sports. Track & Field NEW Participants learn the fundamentals involved with improving flexibility, proper stretching, body positioning, developing core-strength, improving balance, cool-down techniques and other fitness concepts as they relate to exercising and the jumping, running and throwing skills involved in the sport of track and field.

Youth Archery NEW Archery participants learn the parts of an arrow and recurve bow, the techniques of using a recurve bow, and fundamental shooting skills in an extremely safe environment. They also learn an excellent, nationally recognized beginner’s 9-step to the 10 ring progression which was created by the Coaches Development Committee of the National Archery Association. Both technique and games are a part of each class.

36 The Chicago Ridge Park District has partnered with Alsip, Blue Island, Hickory Hills, Palos Hills, Palos Park and Worth Park Districts to bring a youth basketball league to Chicago Ridge. This league is for boys and girls entering first through eighth grade. The league is designed for participants to utilize fundamental skills of basketball in game situations. The head coach will provide instruction on basketball fundamentals, in a positive and fun environment, The head coach, staff and referees will be reinforcing the skills that have been taught or are being developed during games. In addition to the focus on basketball skills, the program offers children the opportunity to interact with both peers and coaches, learn good sportsmanship and how to work as part of a team. Each team will play eleven games between January 11th – March 21st plus playoffs. All teams will receive medals. 37 All seniors are invited to play bingo at the Chicago Ridge Park District. Relax, enjoy yourself and socialize with friends. If you are lucky you could win a few dollars or the overall prize. Donuts and coffee will be served. A shuttle bus will be provided if needed. Please call the Park District at (708) 636-4900 the Friday before the bingo date to reserve your seat on the bus.
