Reflections on the Sunday Scripture Christ went to the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, He died on the cross for our salvation, and He rose March 25, 2018 from the cross to bring us to everlasting life in the Kingdom of God. Passion (Palm) Sunday If we have clean hearts, opened eyes, and enriched Readings: Isaiah 50:407 Philippians 2:6-11 minds, we will all be ready to be baptized or to renew Mark 14-1 – 15:47 our baptismal promises as faithful Catholic Christians at Easter. Today’s Gospel Reading is the passion narrative in Mark, which is the oldest written version of the suffering and death of Jesus that exists. It serves as "The Way of the Cross" a basis for the versions found in Matthew and Luke. featuring Theologically and spiritually, the passion narrative is the most important portion of the entire Gospel. CAN YOU HELP ST. THERESA’S?
St. Theresa’s Thri Store is in need of folks with cashier experience at their Thri Store in Belleview! Many of our parishioners donate regularly to the food pantry and, now, St. Theresa’s is asking for help in the Thri Store. Money raised in the Thri Store opera on funds the food pantry and soup kitchen as well their Social Services, which runs transi onal housing for the homeless! Help is NOT NEEDED in the Food Pantry at this me. HELP IS NEEDED IN ST. THERESA’S THRIFT STORE! If you can offer a few hours or more each week or month, please call (352) 245‐1359 DO NOT CALL ST. MARK’S…..please call the number above! Hours are flexible! Just a day or two would help to keep the programs afloat. In addi on, a few able‐bodied men or women who can move boxes would be helpful. On the second Tuesday of each month, St. Theresa sends a truck to our St. Mark campus to pick up items that folks wish to donate to their Thri Store. In order to do this, they are also in need of a few strong men who can facilitate this. Just ONCE per month! Much volunteer assistance is provided in our parish community, and we are so blessed! At this me, we have been asked to help out our neighboring parish and we are hopeful our faithful parishioners will heed the call. Thank you for your considera on.

What is it, that American Bishops state is “an essential part of Catholic faith that far too many Catholics are not familiar with?”
It’s Catholic Social Teachings.
Three parishes—St. Mark the Evangelist, St. Timothy, and St. Vincent de Paul— are teaming up to jointly sponsor and present an Easter season five-session educational program on Catholic Social Teachings.
Human dignity; call to family, community and participation; rights and responsibilities; options for the poor and vulnerable; dignity of work and rights of workers; solidarity; care for God’s creation.
The sessions will begin April 13 and end on May 11, and will take place from 1 -2:30 PM at St. Timothy. Attend all five sessions or as many as you’d like. Sessions include videos, presentations, group discussion, and personal discernment.
