EMBARGOED until 00:01hrs Thursday 5 May 2011 LAUNCH OF P.U.R.E. CORPORATION S.A.: A developer of high performance and energy efcient powertrains - a new supplier to the 2013 F.I.A. Formula One Championship - P.U.R.E. will use Formula One as a test bed for high performance environmentally friendly propulsion technologies - P.U.R.E. (Propulsion Universelle et Recuperation d’Energie) has been established to respond to growing demand for cutting edge, exceptionally efcient and high performance powertrains. Formula One has been identified as the ultimate proving ground to evolve propulsion technologies applicable to a broad range of industries, including marine, aerospace, automotive and defence. P.U.R.E. has been established by chief executive Craig Pollock, previously founding partner and team principal of Formula One’s British American Racing (B.A.R.) team. He has recruited a world-class team of management and technical partners. A key adviser has been Christian Contzen, the architect of Renault’s success in Formula One during the 1990s. Robin Southwell has been appointed non-executive chairman. P.U.R.E.’s technology partners are TEOS, Mecachrome, D2T and IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN), highly qualified specialists in powertrain design, prototyping and manufacturing, and France’s leading developers of new and more efcient fuel technologies. Radical changes to powertrain regulations for Formula One were ratified by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (F.I.A) World Motorsports council in December 2010. The new rules, aimed at drastically reducing fuel consumption without hindering performance, illustrate the will of the F.I.A and Formula One's participants to be more environmentally conscious.

For more than 115 years Renault has embraced the challenge of motorsport in multiple guises. It recognised the value of competitive activities for technical and commercial gain: in December 1898 Louis Renault drove the Type A Voiturette up the steepest street in Paris, the rue Lepic. The first orders for the ground-breaking car with direct drive flooded in. In 1902 the nimble, lightweight Type K, fitted with Renault’s first 4-cylinder engine, took victory in the Paris-Vienna rally. Again, many more cars were sold. Going through the years, in 1977 Renault introduced the first-ever turbocharged car to F1.

WELCOME BACK TO BAKU Dear friends, On behalf of Baku City Circuit, please let me welcome you to the third successive Formula 1 race weekend in Azerbaijan. Last year’s race in Baku was widely recognised as the most exciting and dramatic race of the year – if not the decade – by members of the media, teams, drivers and the global F1 fanbase alike. It truly was a race that had it all culminating in the most unexpected podium line up in many years. The fact that this historic race occurred under our new event title as the FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX filled us with an even greater sense of pride and satisfaction for a job well done. This year we once again welcome the world to Baku at the slightly earlier date of late April to bear witness to the awe-inspiring sight of F1 cars negotiating one of the fastest and most testing circuits in Formula 1. Baku City Circuit’s winding, narrow sequences, 90-degree turns and high-speed straights - all set against the breath- taking backdrop of Baku’s UNESCO-protected old city, magnificent skylines and beautiful seaside promenade - have proven to be a major challenge to the current F1 grid, resulting in last year’s spectacular outcome and many on-track altercations. We are very confident of a similar explosion of drama, speed and bravery occurring once again for the 2018 edition. Furthermore, the off-track entertainment will be bigger and better than ever before with world-class music, visual and conceptual artists once again performing all along the specially constructed Fan Zone all weekend.

  • Renault Sport Racing Press Pack 2020
FOREWORD This year, Renault will continue its very proud and long-standing history in Formula 1 into a new decade, our sixth consecutive in the sport. We are in the midst of an interesting period, as we continue to engage within established global markets, while simultaneously developing our brand and its awareness in bigger areas like China and India within the widespread transformation of the automotive industry. Our commitment to Formula 1 has led to inventive marketing initiatives to increase awareness of, and commitment to, our brand. I look forward in particular to supporting new activations from Groupe Renault and its markets around E-Tech technology, which has been inspired by long-standing Formula 1 innovation. Our presence in the sport is also a unique opportunity for the team’s partners and sponsors to build relationships with one of the most important car manufacturers in the world, and for Renault to benefit from their know-how in their respective fields. 2020 is also an important transition year for the team. We aim to recapture the positive momentum from our first three years since returning to Formula 1 while preparing for next season, which will represent a new cycle for all teams. Having completed our initial construction phase, we are more determined than ever to be ready to attack and take advantage of the 2021 technical changes. 2020 is also the last year under the current agreements that govern Formula 1’s commercial rights. The new agreements and rules, already in advanced negotiation, should represent a new opportunity for Renault Sport Racing and for Renault to take part in a more balanced, competitive sport.

P.1 of 12 3rd Naturally-Aspirated Era (3NA), Part 2, 1995 - 2000 (end of this review); Egs. 79 to 85 The 3 Litre Formula 79. 1995 Renault RS7; 2,992 cc; 675 HP @ 15,200 RPM (See Fig. 79A) After the FIA WMSC decision of June 1994 to reduce the allowable swept Volume (V) to 3 Litres in 1994, there was a lead time of 9 months to the start of the season. The resultant Renault RS7, still 67V10, is believed to have dropped V mostly by reduced Stroke (S), so that B/S rose but this is unconfirmed. Certainly the engine length, at 623 mm, was unchanged from the RS6 (1017). The crankcase apparently was reduced in height A 5’’ instead of a 5.5’’ triple-plate clutch was fitted (565). 3L vs 3.5L back-to-back track testing. The RS7 was available for Williams to do an “Apples-to-Apples” comparison with the RS6 in an FW16 car at the shortened Paul Ricard circuit in December 1994, only about 6 months after the 14.3% V drop was mandated (quick work, suggesting only minimum changes). Driven by Emmanuel Collard the new combination was only 2% slower in lap speed (129.5 MPH vs 132.2) (574). This was a remarkable achievement which, on the typical exchange rate, implies about 8% drop of PP (see Note 104), although other sources indicated 12% reduction (see Appendix 1). Perhaps the lower engine C of G and 3 kg lower weight (1017) helped the lap speed. Seasonal developments The FIA “Zero-ram-pressure” rule of mid 1994 was rescinded after the 1st 1995 race.

  • Renault Sport F1 Preview to the Australian Gp
RENAULT SPORT F1 PREVIEW TO THE AUSTRALIAN GP 14 March 2012 – The 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship restarts this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix, held at the 5.303km Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. This year, Renault Sport F1 will supply its RS27 V8 engine to four teams; Red Bull Racing, which aims to successfully defend its consecutive world championship titles; Lotus F1 Team, Caterham F1 Team and Williams F1 Team, reviving the historic Williams-Renault partnership for the first time since 1997. ‘Last year was about re-establishing Renault as an engine supplier rather than team owner,’ comments Jean-François Caubet, managing director of Renault Sport F1, ‘This season is about consolidation. We showed that the Renault RS27 engine is amongst the best on track, but this year we want to stress that the service, driveability and flexibility we afford our partners is the strongest in the business. ‘Ultimately we want to give our partners responsive, reliable engines developed to their full potential within the given regulations to allow them to achieve their respective aims, whether championship titles, race wins or points. ‘In tandem, we need to extract marketing and commercial opportunities within Formula 1 that can be exploited within the Renault Group to increase brand power and ultimately sales figures. We aren’t just here to compete, we are here to extract real performance and marketing value from our involvement in Formula 1.’ Views from our partners Christian Horner, team principal, Red Bull Racing This will be our sixth season working with Renault Sport F1. We have been very successful together so far, achieving 27 wins, 65 podiums, 38 pole positions and four World Championships.
