My name is Brandon “Money” Green, I am a local, raised since childhood here, and I will be your personal inside source to all the local southern Maryland Pro wrestling News. If Pro wrestling is happening here you will know about it and I will keep your finger on the pulse of what’s currently happening in the world of Pro wrestling and Ground Xero Wrestling. First and foremost we would not be able to entertain you without the wonderful groups that help support us and keep us going we would like to send out love to The BayNet, Sparkle Salon, Troy Hansen law and Blue Wind Gourmet. Without you there would be no us so Thank you. We start our first writing on a sad day in the world of wrestling. At the young age of 69 The American Dream Dusty Rhodes passed away. He was one of the most Charismatic individuals ever to grace the ring. He is a Legend and will be remembered forever as a lovable man with a killer smile. RIP Dusty sir. Ground Xero Wrestling is gearing up for its next big event Saturday June 27th at the VFW across from the Wildewood Shopping center starring WWE Hall of Famer SGT. Slaughter! Did you know the Sarge is the only living GI JOE character? This means your kids can meet a real life, true GI JOE American Hero! All of the best performers and wrestlers from all over the U.S. will be on hand as we have many exciting things happening that day. All concessions go directly to the VFW, if you bring in a can of food that will take $5 off your ticket price as well. The cans go to the food pantry in Ridge, Md. to give back to the community that gave to me at an early age. One of the toughest ladies in the wrestling scene today, Kacee Karlise, will have an open challenge to any Southern Maryland female wrestler that dares to stand in the ring with her. Who will answer the challenge? The head trainer for GXW Southern Maryland School of Pro Wrestling (located in Ridge Md.) former TNA superstar band, current Global Force Star, Sonjay Dutt has issued a challenge to one of the best all around villains in GXW, Bolo Yung. His mortal combat style looks and fighting skills makes him a very tough adversary. Can your local head trainer defeat him? At our last show The Cobra Commanders attacked Southern Maryland Superheroes, Batman. Batman has put out his own Bat signal to enlist the help of the truest American alive Sgt. Slaughter! Who will team with the Sarge to help vanquish the evil commanders who have been causing such a disturbance in GXW since their mystery financial advisor introduced them to GXW ? GXW has had three out of four battle royals. The winners of the battle royal will all face each other in a four way competition to crown the first ever GXW Maryland Champion August 28th when we return to the VFW. Thus far the winners have been Craigzilla (who has since retired and will be replaced by a surprise TNA superstar) Former WWE and first ever Gut Check winner Jon Bolen and former WCW/WWE wrestler Buff Bagwell. This will be the last of the battle royals. Who will earn a shot to be entered into the four way dance to earn the title? Convicts DTP? The 400 pound Cory Bush? CZW Champion BLK JEEZ? There is only one way to find out. Join us for a fun filled day of raising money for good causes, supporting men and women living their dreams of performing in the squared circle, letting the kids holler and scream all of the energy out and just plain have some fun. Tickets start at $15 so bring a can and you get three hours of fun for 10 bucks……cheaper than a movie, and you are giving back to the community. We had up to 750 viewers simultaneously on Facebook and also had some students and a trainer (Toby Blunt) in attendance to provide some crowd noise and cheering at key points during the announcement. Drawing on Brown’s work, the language of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) contracts, and professional wres- tling’s territorial history, this article argues that contemporary story-lines in professional wrestling rationalize, economize, and trivialize the form’s very real violent labour, even rendering audiences complicit in said violence— while serving also as a potent vehicle for understanding the metaphorical (and sometimes literal) violence of neo-liberal rationality more broadly.
