We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died, Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to confirm to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, though the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen! Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.” Adapted from the Prayer of Pope Francis, published through the Knights of Columbus This Prayer should be said daily, and don’t forget the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The Spiritual Combat and Fatima: Fourth Week of Lent Fourth Week of Lent: The New Adam “And going out, He went, according to His custom, to the mount of Olives. And His disciples also followed Him. And when He was come to the place, He said to them: Pray, lest ye enter into temptation. And He was withdrawn away from them a stone’s cast; and kneeling down, He prayed, saying: Father, if Thou wilt, remove this chalice from Me: but yet not My will, but Thine be done. And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in an agony, He prayed the longer. And His sweat became as drops of blood, trickling down upon the ground. And when He rose up from prayer, and was come to His disciples, He found them sleeping for sorrow. And He said to them: Why sleep you? Arise, pray, lest you enter into temptation.” — Luke 22:39-46 Commentary on Sacred Scripture At the Third Council of Constantinople (A.D. 680-681), the Church defined that Our Lord and God, Jesus Christ, has two wills: divine and human. • The Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, Italy in the City of Lanciano, Italy
The Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, Italy In the city of Lanciano, Italy, around the year 700 of Our Lord there was a priest of the order of St. Basil who, though learned in the sciences of the world, was ignorant in ways of God, and was not strong in his faith. He was plagued by a doubt as to whether the consecrated Host was truly the Body of Christ, and the consecrated wine truly His Blood. He had difficulty believing in the mystery of transubstantiation (the miraculous changing of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ). One morning, as he was celebrating Mass, he had already said the most holy words of consecration ("This is My Body..., This is my Blood..."), as Jesus had taught it to his Apostles, his doubts and errors weighed upon him more heavily than ever. By a most singular and marvelous grace, he saw the Bread changed into Flesh and the wine into Blood. Frightened and confused by such a great and stupendous Miracle, he stood quite a while as if in a divine ecstasy; but eventually, his fear gave way to the spiritual happiness that filled his soul, and he turned his joyful yet tearful face to those around him, exclaiming "...Behold the Flesh and the blood of our Most Beloved Christ." At those words, the bystanders ran to the altar and began, with tears, to cry for mercy. The faithful, who, having become witnesses themselves, spread the news throughout the entire city. Today twelve centuries after the miraculous occurrence it remains intact, a sustained miracle! Upon a superficial examination, the Host of Flesh, which is still in one piece and has retained the dimensions of the original "Large Host", has a fibrous appearance and a brown color, which becomes light-reddish if one places a light in the back of the Ostensorium.

  • Our Lady of Fatima: 'Pray the Rosary Every Day'
Our Lady of Fatima: ‘Pray the Rosary every day’ by Fr Justin Ford One of the most famous claimed visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary was in the village of Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. From 13 May to 13 October 1917 Our Lady is said to have appeared six times at noon on the 13th of the month, in the field of Cova da Iria near Fatima, to three shepherd children, Lucia Dos Santos (10) and her cousins Francisco Marto (9) and Jacinta Marto (7). At the first apparition only the children were present, but by the time of the final apparition, the crowd had grown to an estimated 70,000. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Timeline of the Apparitions of Fatima 1916 The children have three apparitions of the ‘Angel of Peace’ during 1916; at the time they keep these secret. 13 May 1917 First Apparition of Our Lady. The children agree to keep it secret, but Jacinta lets slip the experience to her family, and knowledge of the story starts to spread. 13 June 1917 Second Apparition. People in the village are divided about whether they believe the children’s story, but about 50 people gather with them. In the following weeks, Lucia’s mother takes her to the parish priest hoping he will make her take back the story. He is doubtful, but makes no decision. 13 July 1917 Third Apparition. Crowd is about 3,000. Mary tells three ‘Secrets’ to the children. She promises to work a miracle at the final vision on 13 October so that all will believe.
