Industry Data Report for 2015 Industry Monitoring Data Supplement to the Expert Committee on Pesticide Residues in Food Annual Report 2015 CRD Comment We received results from residues testing carried out by industry on over 4,000 samples of various food and drink. Screening assessments were done for all samples which contained a residue over the Maximum Residue Level (MRL) to check that predicted intakes were within the ARfD. Intake calculations showed exceedances of the acute reference dose (ARfD) for the following pesticide/commodity combinations: Food Pesticide Grapes Ethephon Lime Imazalil Mango BAC Melon Flonicamid Pear Carbendazim Pear Fludioxonil Potato BAC Satsuma Thiabendazole We asked the companies who tested these samples to comment on the results and what follow up action had been taken. The majority of the companies confirmed that these results came from pre-sale residue checks used as part of their commercial quality control measures, and that because of the results they had not put the food on sale to the public. One company, who has a sample that exceed the MRL but did not give an intake above the ARfD commented that they did not receive the results until the product was on sale to the public. However when the results were received a full investigation was carried out with the grower.
