In case yes, to what extent and under what conditions. Three districts in the South-Moravian Region, Znojmo, Bˇreclav, and Hodonín, situated in the rural borderland with Austria and Slovakia represented the study area. Both geographical and sociological methods were used to gather evidence for cultural tourism in that study. Firstly, attractiveness analysis of the area defined for cultural tourism took place. Next, factors influencing the potential for cultural tourism affecting rural development in South Moravia were evaluated. Finally, synergistic relations were discussed. In the territory, many forms of tourism intersect. Based on the results, it can be stated that cultural tourism can hardly be the main driver of rural development after the decline of agriculture because the region’s economy has branched out in several directions. However, it can be an important complementary activity that yields both economic and non-economic benefits.

Some people say, it is really hard to measure that how much culture is being damaged by the tourism or how much culture is being protected due to the involvement of many socio-cultural and socio-economic variables together in tourism. From the extensive literature survey it is found that the tourists, tourism enterprises and hosts are jointly responsible not solely for damaging or keeping a culture (Spanou, 2007). This research suggests that for managing culture responsibly, a democratic management group in a destination management needed to be developed, the local community should be empowered, priority should be given to the process of the development not the product, and finally a structural link between the formal and informal sectors in the tourism industry should be lead by the government to develop a code of conducts and cultural research centres for cultural education, training, workshops, exhibitions, and performance. Firstly, it is conducted an anlaysis to determine the demand for cultural tourism to determine the cultural tourist profile under the assumptions that tourists especially motivated by culture, tend to travel longer distances than most tourists. It discusses the motivations and satisfactions of cultural tourists to establish the potential market in accordance with the characteristics of the target market in the Southern region of Jalisco. The impact on tourists caused by local residents and local cultural heritage has barely been discussed. The presumption is that a tourist needs to be confronted with something unfamiliar, like authenticity, regardless if it is authentic or not. It has been claimed that tourists sometimes do not care about authenticity. If they don´t, the greater the likelihood is that they will be influenced by reproduced authenticity. The concept of heritagization is a process to adapt use of culture heritage to promote images favorable for the political management. It is a final stage of a social process, where cultural heritage is used in order to have wished political impact on the visitors. This paper will analyze the role of heritagization from three different aspects by using examples from Transylvania in Romania, Western Pomerania in Poland and the relation between All Saint´s Day and Halloween in Sweden. Introduction Impact of Tourism on Destinations over Time The interplay between tourism and cultural heritage is not always regarded by those involved in the preservation of heritage. This neglect stems from historical tensions. For example, excesses during the so called Grand Tour of continental Europe, when young British upper-class youth visited Europe as part of their education (Towner 1985), fueled a negative view of the relationship between tourists and heritage preservationists. A further augmentation of negative impacts occurred after the 1960s when a breakthrough of charter tourism occurred.

Salazar, University of Leuven ABSTRACT The role of anthropology as an academic discipline that seeds tourism imaginaries across the globe is more extensive than generally acknowl- edged. In this article, I draw on ethnographic and archival research in Indonesia and Tanzania to examine critically the recycling of long-refuted ethnological ideas and scientific ideologies in contemporary tourism in- terpretation. A fine-grained analysis of local tour guide narratives and practices in two popular destinations, Yogyakarta and Arusha, illustrates empirically how outdated scholarly models, including anthropological ones, are strategically used to represent and reproduce places and peo- ples as authentically different and relatively static, seemingly untouched by extra-local influences. From an initial concentration on classical antiquity, tourism quickly spread, rather like anthropology itself, to peasant and tribal cultures, from the tropical islands of Polynesia to the arctic and desert interiors. As with professional anthropologists, tourists were interested in obtaining material artefacture and homes became display cabinets for their collections. And in the closing decades of the twentieth century, the heritage tourism industry became possible through the extension of this popular anthropology into the material and social cultures of an earlier modernity.

This definition is based on the description of organizational behavior within countries and cultures on one hand and of organizational behavior across countries and cultures on another. Peoples from different countries often work together in the same environment creating specific interactions but they can also built special relationships during their leisure time. Looking at the particular subject of management from this perspective it is possible to notice that tourism products have quite big potential for creating cross-cultural interactions when services are produced in different cultures or/and consumed in different cultural context. It is mainly connected with a simultaneous production and consumption on the one hand and consumer’s participation in both processes on the other hand. Tourism products posses an additional feature which creates a cross- cultural dimension in both production and consumption: movement (traveling) between different cultural environments which is a source of different cultural experiences; they have to be recognized a priori to be placed on the market with the tourism product.
