Sólo en el año fiscal 2005, la Pa- trulla Fronteriza arrestó a 138,438 indocumentados en este sector, un promedio de 800 indocumentados por día. Pero, después de la edificación de la triple valla, el arresto de indocumentados descendió hasta en un 90 por ciento. Recientemente, en el año fiscal 2015 se reportaron tan solo 7,142 arrestos, pero en 2016 esa cifra volvió a elevarse a 14,170 deten- ciones.
