Belhaven Best - what a success story! Launched in 1991, the beautifully balanced smooth and creamy honey-coloured beer pioneered a new concept in beer drinking in Scotland. Best is dispensed using a mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide - otherwise known as nitrokeg technology. Adding to the family, in 1998 Belhaven introduced Best Extra cold - the same delicious pint but with the temperature dropped a few degrees. Best and Extra Cold are to be found in pubs throughout Scotland but if it's not available near you in the UK why not buy from the online store?

All the Best! Cheers! www.belhaven.co.uk

www.burntislandgolfhouseclub.co.uk 15 Mar 2016 BGHC Greens Team Head Greenkeeper - Steve McAughey The current Greens Team at Burntisland is Head Greenkeeper Stevie McAughey and his assistants Jim Murie and Alex Johnstone.

Stevie, the senior man (Head Greenkeeper), has been at the club since his apprentice days. After 26 years he is vastly experienced and has tremendous local knowledge. Stevie also works as a part time Fireman for the Scottish Fire Services. He also golfed here as a junior prior to starting his working career and is still one of the lower handicap golfers at our club.

Jim Murie, (Assistant Greenkeeper), the newest member of our Team, arrived a few years ago from Wellsgreen Golf Range but has played golf at Burntisland for many years.

Alex Johnstone, the third member, is also a very well qualified Greenkeeper with an extensive knowledge of Assistant Greenkeeper - Alex Johnstone the needs of the club. He has been with us for 17years.

Together they make up our permanent team which we supplement in the summer months, May through to October, with other qualified staff and younger labourers, usually selected from the local area, keeping our roots firmly connected to the Burntisland area. They work tirelessly in all weather conditions to maintain and improve the conditions at the Golf Course.

We readily embrace new efficient and environmentally friendly ways of maintaining and developing the course and have recently switched to the SYMBIO system of soil treatment. Symbol introduces natural bugs that helps soil regenerate naturally. Although our use of SYMBIO is in its infancy, it results in less need for hollow coring, and we anticipate significant results from this revolutionary treatment with dramatic improvements to the course and lower impact on the environment. Assistant Greenkeeper - Jim Murie We have recently leased new equipment to maintain the course. Stevie and the team are looking forward to the arrival of their new toys in preparation for the 2016 season.

Come along and have a game, our course is in great condition with tricky greens and is a great challenge in the prevailing wind.
