Club Queen Robyn Will Play Northside 2020 2019-11-05 10:00 CET Club queen Robyn will play NorthSide 2020 The Swedish world star and pop icon is joined by Franc Moody, Spleen United and Jung. NorthSide is seriously counting down to next year's festival; first with the announcement of Green Day and Weezer along with Danish star Lukas Graham, just to name a few. Now the festival is ready with yet another strong addition. At NorthSide 2014, Robyn joined the producer duo Röyksopp on stage for a breathtaking techno-intermezzo. For the first time ever, Robyn will visit NorthSide as a solo artist in 2020, and we guarantee that no one will "be dancing on their own", when the uncrowned queen of the dance floor unleashes 25 years of incredible songwriting and mega hits. 2018 saw the release of the album "Honey", which was led by the hit single "Missing U", and once again Robyn demonstrated the fact that she is one of the most accomplished and influential artists on the electro-pop scene. The world first laid its eyes on Robyn in 1995, when the debut album "Robyn Is Here" was released. Hits like "Do You Know (What It Takes)", ”Do You Really Want Me” and ”Show Me Love” burst onto the world stage and reached several top 10 positions on the prestigious US Billboard chart. In 2005, Robyn got her big, international breakthrough with the song "With Every Heartbeat" from the album "Robyn", which also defined the electronic, synth-heavy sound we have since come to associate her with. In 2010, the "Body Talk” trilogy arrived with massive hits like "Dancing On My Own and "Call Your Girlfriend”. Robyn will play Northside Friday, June 5th After a six-year break, the comeback of electro-rock band Spleen United is far more than just a pleasant reunion with old friends. It is also a reunion of the original band members from the debut album “Godspeed Into The Mainstream”. In 2013, following a concert at NorthSide, the group announced that they would go on hiatus "indefinitely". Luckily, the break is over, and we are proud to welcome Bjarke and Gaute Niemann, Kasper Nørlund, Rune Wehner and Jens Kinch back on stage in Aadalen. In 2005, the electro rockers released their break-through and debut album "Godspeed Into The Mainstream", which included a strong list of hit singles: The first single "Heroin Unlimited", which was quickly chosen as ”Single of the Week” on Danish Radio, was followed by "In Peak Fitness Condition" and "Spleen Utd." 2008 saw the release of a second album: "Neanderthal" went straight into first place on the official Danish album chart - and hits like "Suburbia" and "My Tribe" showed that Spleen United phenomenal masters of both texts and tones. In 2012, Spleen United released the musical gem "School of Euphoria", which included the singles "Days of Thunder” and "Misery", featuring Gitte Nielsen - formerly Stallone - on vocals. ”School of Euphoria” was awarded ”Danish Rock Album of the Year” at the Danish Music Awards, as well as ”Danish Electronic Album of the Year” at the Gaffa Awards - and now we are finally ready to say: ”Welcome back” to Spleen United. Spleen United will play NorthSide Saturday, June 6th The London-based music collective Franc Moody equals a solid collection of funk rhythms and guitar riffs. Their universe is intergalactic and glitter-filled, with clear references to both Daft Punk and Jamiroquai. Jung will play Northside, Thursday, June 4th - It is with great honor we can present a heavyweight Nordic superstar like Robyn at NorthSide 2020. She encapsulates the sound of the '90s, and at the same time she is more relevant than ever as a power woman on the electronic scene. Robyn unites people across age and music preferences, which is something we expect to be expressed on stage as well as in the audience.     WILLIE ROBYN: A RECORDING ARTIST IN THE 19205 (PART 2) By Tim Brooks Victor to Cameo The early 1920s must have been a heady time for young Robyn, with an exclusive Victor contract, a burgeoning stage and radio career, excellent reviews for his concert work, and talk of the Met. But by 1923 he had hit a plateau. The first setback was the loss ofhis agent, the enthusiastic Hugo Boucek. Boucek had run up large bills publicizing his artists. The economic depression of 1921-22 cut into concert revenues, and many concerts were canceled outright. Deeply in debt, Boucek skipped town, never to be heard from again. Left in the lurch, Robyn did not secure another agent, a move he later felt was a mistake. "I was the most mismanaged person that ever lived," he ruefully explained. The first matter he had to deal with was the expiration of his three-year Victor contract, in mid-1923. Victor was happy to renew, but for the same $7,000 per year as the previous term, and with Robyn still pretty much limited to the foreign series. Robyn insisted on more money, and another chance at popular recording. He made a new popular trial, "Dearest," on April 11th with Nat Shilkret accompanying on piano. Robyn scouted around for other options, and even made a test for Edison on May 24th. The test was reviewed by Thomas Edison himself, who noted of Robyn, 1 Has loud tremolo. Sings too loud.
