TONIGHT'S GAME COLORADO vs. ARIZONA 7:30 p.m. Altitude / 92.5 The Avalanche continues a six-game homestand tonight against the Coyotes at Ball Arena.

STAY HOT Colorado has points in 11 straight games (9-0-2), the second-longest point streak in the NHL this season. The Islanders had a 12-game run (11-0-1) from Feb. 22–March 14. This current 11-game stretch is Colorado's longest since Nov. 11–Dec. 2, 2018 (9-0-2) and tonight they look to make it 12 games without a regulation loss for the first time since Feb. 27–March 25, 2007 (10-0-2). Colorado is 13-2-3 in its last 18. The Avs are 8-0-1 in their last nine at Ball Arena, their longest home point streak since winning 10 straight here from Dec. 29, 2017–Feb. 14, 2018.

MARCH-ING ORDERS Colorado is 11-2-3 in March, tying the franchise record for wins in a single month. The Avalanche's 25 points in March are tied with Pittsburgh for the most in the NHL, one shy of the franchise record for any month.

GET BUSY LIVING Tonight ends the Avalanche's busiest month ever, as they are playing their 17th and final game of March. The previous franchise record for most games in a month was 16 on five occasions. The Avs are in a current stretch of 26 dates in 46 days and 43 games over the final 78 days of 2020-21.

JUST ANOTHER MONTH The Avs will finish with their 12th consecutive "winning" month going back to February 2019, extending their franchise record. The previous mark was 10 straight winning months from March 2000 to October 2001.

50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER With a victory tonight, the Avalanche would tie their franchise record for the fewest number of games to reach 50 points in a season (35). The 2000- 01 Avalanche and 1994-95 Nordiques also reached the 50-point mark in their 35th contest.

BOTH ENDS OF THE ICE The Avs are allowing the fewest goals-against-per-game (2.24) and have scored the second most goals-per-contest (3.47), the only NHL team to rank among the top three in both categories. Six Avalanche skaters have potted 10 or more goals this year, tied for the most double-digit goal scorers in the league (FLA, TBL, WPG). Colorado has tallied at least once in 26 of its last 29 periods, which included a franchise-record streak of 20 consecutive periods with a goal from March 12-23. The Avs have out-scored their opponents 32-12 in the last seven games and 46-17 in the last 10. Colorado shares the league lead with two 8-goal games and five 6-goal efforts.

SWEET HOME Colorado is 14-4-2 at home, the second most wins (14-tied) and points (30) in the NHL. The Avs are 8-0-1 in their last eight at Ball Arena, which included a seven-game winning streak. Colorado is out-scoring its opponents 74-42 on home ice, including 18-6 over the last four games and 23-7 over the last five.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT Colorado ranks first in the NHL in shots-per-game (35.2) and shots-against-per-game (24.9). The last NHL team to lead the league in both was the 2009-10 Blackhawks. The Avs pace the NHL in shot differential (+350), far ahead of the next closest team (Boston +173). They are out-shooting the opposition by an average of 10.29 shots per night, also by far the best. Colorado was out-shot by Vegas 34-24 on Saturday, snapping a streak of 19 straight games in which they out-shot the other team. Colorado has out-shot the opposition in 27 of its 34 contests this season (most in NHL). The Avs own a 19-6-2 record when holding an edge in shots, the most wins of any club. They have out-shot their foes 444-258 (+186) in the last 11 games and 479-272 (+207) over the last 12. Colorado had a franchise-record streak of 18 straight games without allowing 30 shots from Jan. 31–March 18.

FEELING GRU-BI Philipp Grubauer leads the NHL in shutouts (5), is tied for first in wins (21) and among netminders who have appeared in at least 10 games ranks first in goals-against average (1.74) and tied for second in save percentage (.929). He has appeared in a league-high 29 games and is tied for first in starts (28). Grubi's 21 wins and five shutouts are both career bests, with his five clean sheets the most by an Avalanche netminder since 2014-15 (Semyon Varlamov, five). He picked up his 20th victory of the year on March 25, becoming the fastest goaltender in franchise history to reach 20 wins in a season (27th game). Patrick Roy hit 20 in his 30th contest of 2000-01. Grubauer had a career-high, eight-game winning streak from March 10-25, tied for the fourth-longest run in franchise history. He allowed one or fewer goals in all eight appearances (seven starts) during that stretch, becoming the first NHL goaltender to go eight-plus decisions without allowing more than one goal since John Vanbiesbrouck in 1991-92 (eight). Grubauer recorded his 100th NHL victory on Monday, joining Thomas Greiss (139) as the only German-born netminders to reach 100 and joining Greiss and Olie Kolzig (303) as the only Germans to hit the century mark (Kolzig was born in South Africa).

Grubauer leads all netminders with 11 wins in March, setting a franchise record for a single month. A victory tonight and he would equal the NHL record for wins in month (12) shared by Sergei Bobrovsky (Dec. 2016), Jimmy Howard (March 2010), Ray Emery (March 2006), Bernie Parent (March 1974).

Makar, who had three helpers on Monday, required the fewest games (79) by a defenseman in NHL history to record five career outings with three or more assists.
