On behalf of the City Council, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Twin Falls.

Spring is definitely here and summer will soon follow. Living in most of my life, snow does not bother me; I know that warmer weather is the reward for getting through the cold season. Working as a D.A.R.E. Officer and a school resource officer for the City of Twin Falls, and as the former executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of , I know the importance of children participating in recreation programs and enjoying the many parks that Twin Falls has to offer.

Essential to my vision as Mayor, is a healthy and active community. For those of you who enjoy competitive sports, the City of Twin Falls Parks and Recreation manages many adult and youth recreation programs, such as; volleyball, basketball, flag football, and softball, as well as a variety of other leisure activities.

If you’re not seeking competitive play, I encourage you to learn all you can about the importance of diet and exercise and visit one of our world-class parks. Trail systems throughout the city provide ample opportunities for walking, bicycling, jogging, or just relaxing.

The leadership of Twin Falls believes that recreation is essential to our quality of life. We invite you to join us today and begin seeing the endless opportunities we have to offer.

Friday, May 28th: (9:30pm) Back to the Future-1985 (PG): Marty McFly, a typical American teenager of the Eighties, is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean “time machine” invented by slightly mad scientist, Doc Emmett Brown. During his often hysterical, always amazing trip back in time, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love, so he can get back to the future.

PCA INTEREST SPECIAL Friday, June 11th: (9:30pm) Back to the Future II-1989 (PG): The second part of the trilogy begins as Doc, Marty and Jennifer take a time-traveling DeLorean into the year 2015 to straighten out the future of the McFly family. But Biff Tannensteals the time machine and gives his younger self a book containing 50 years of sports statistics, which the young Biff uses to amass an enormous gambling fortune and transform idyllic Hilll Valley into a living nightmare. To restore the present, Doc and Marty must return to the events of their previous adventure in 1955 and retrieve the book.

Friday, June 25th: (9:30pm) Back to the Future III-1990 (PG): The conclusion of the trilogy sends Marty McFly on a rescue mission to the year 1885, where he must save Doc Brown from death at the hands of yet another member of the Tannen clan. However, there are a number of complications preventing a quick return to the future: a lack of gasoline for the time-traveling DeLorean, a band of gun slinging outlaws and a schoolmarm with affections for the smitten Doc.

Friday, July 30th: (9:30pm) Goonies-1985 (PG): Mikey and Brandon Walsh are two brothers whose family is preparing to move due to a new development that is sure to be started unless enough money is raised, which is quite doubtful. But, when Mikey stumbles on a treasure map of the famed “One-Eyed” Willy’s hidden fortune, he, his brother, and a few friends set out on a quest to find the riches in hopes to save their homes. The entrance to a cavern is found, but it is located underneath an abandoned restaurant occupied by the Fratelli family, a treacherous group of thieves who attempt to beat the “Goonies” to the treasure.

Friday,August 27th: (8:30pm) Mulan-1998 (G): This retelling of the old Chinese folktale is about the story of a young Chinese maiden who learns that her weakened and lame father is to be called up into the army in order to fight the invading Huns. Knowing that he would never survive the rigor of war in his state, she decides to disguise herself and join in his place. Unknown to her, her ancestors are aware of this and try to prevent it. They order a tiny disgraced dragon, Mushu to join her in order to force her to abandon her plan. He agrees, but when he meets Mulan, he learns that she cannot be dissuaded and so decides to help her in the perilous times ahead.

Friday, September 24th: (8:00pm) Frankenstein-1931 (NR): Henry Frankenstein is a doctor who is trying to discover a way to make the dead walk.
