Sognefjord Wonders Tour Fit005 / Oslo – Bergen / 5 Nights, 6 Days SOGNEFJORD WONDERS TOUR FIT005 / OSLO – BERGEN / 5 NIGHTS, 6 DAYS Explore the wonders of the Sognefjord in the region between Oslo, the capital, Bergen, the “gateway to the Fjords”. Enjoy cruises on the famous Sognefjord and the western coastline to Bergen. Discover the power of the Vosso River on a rafting tour in Voss, as well as going on a spectacular journey on the famous Flåm and Bergen Railways. DAY 1 | ARRIVAL IN OSLO Arrival at Oslo Airport – Gardermoen - according to your own itinerary. (Flight reserved by your agency). Transfer to the hotel on your own. Oslo, situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord, is the capital of Norway. Oslo is a great choice to experience architecture, museums and other attractions. We recommend the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower, Akershus Fortress, National Gallery, Viking Ship Museum, Vigeland Sculpture Park, Fram Museum and Norwegian Folk Museum. These are all ranked among the most popular tourist attractions. Bed and breakfast accommodation at Thon Hotel Opera, located close to train station. DAY 2 | OSLO - VOSS In the morning, walk to the train station in Oslo and board the Bergen Railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides, which will take you to Voss. In Voss, snowy mountaintops, valleys and forests, rivers, waterfalls and lakes greet you. The village is located in-between the famous fjords of Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord and can offer outdoor adventures all year round. For nearly 200 years, the village has been welcoming visitors looking for adventures based on nature, local culture and traditions. Half board accommodation at Fleischer's Hotel. Robinson Scandinavia AS [email protected] Ibsens gate 7, NO-2821 Gjøvik www.robinsonscandinavia.com T +47 61 10 81 50 DAY 3 | VOSS - FLÅM Leave your luggage at the hotel and walk to the bus station for a transfer to the Voss Active Camp. Go for a Rafting tour with Voss Active. Experience the thrill of sitting in a raft going with the flow down the Vosso River. The journey starts in flat water, before joining the flow though sections of gentle rapids with waves and whirlpools. The end station of the adventure is the Evanger Lake, where refreshments and lunch are waiting for you. (Suitable for everyone over 15 years old. Family rafting min 5 years old is also possible at reduced rates). After lunch, transfer back to Voss bus station. Collect your luggage at the hotel and walk to the train station in Voss. Board the train taking you to Myrdal. In Myrdal, switch trains to the Flåm Railway, one of the most beautiful and steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world. Travel through spectacular scenery, alongside the Rallar Road, down to Flåm. At the innermost bank of the Aurlandsfjord, surrounded by steep mountains, thundering waterfalls and narrow valleys, you will find the small village of Flåm. We suggest a tour up to Stegastein viewpoint to get a panoramic view of the Aurlandsfjord or going on a RIB boat tour on the Sognefjord for a more personal experience. Half board accommodation at Flåmsbrygga Hotel in rooms with balcony and fjord view. DAY 4 | FLÅM – BALESTRAND Board a ship for a crossing through steep mountains on the beautiful Sognefjord from Flåm to Balestrand. The Sognefjord is Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, and its famous arm the Nærøyfjord has World Heritage status. The surrounding mountain areas are amongst Norway’s most popular hiking areas. The mild climate, fresh air and abundance of lush mountain pastures mean that the Sognefjord area produces fresh ingredients of high quality. Half board accommodation at Kvikne's Hotel in rooms with fjord view. DAY 5 | BALESTRAND - BERGEN Board a ship for a ferry crossing from Balestrand to Bergen. Cruising further along the beautiful Sognefjord and the coastal landscape of western Norway. Bergen is Norway’s 2. largest city, and is known as the capital of the west and gateway to the fjords. It is a UNESCO world heritage city with bryggen, mount Fløien and the fish market as central attractions. A stroll through bryggen takes you back to the middle ages as a lot of the architecture is preserved. We also recommend a visit to Edward Griegs villa, Troldhaugen. • Banners in Heraldic Art
Banners in heraldic art Magnus Backrnark Abstract The banner is very useful to heraldic art. It is a carrier of charges and colours, just like its coun terpart the shield. But where the shield can be seen as crude, heavy, flat and robust - its purpose being taking hits- the banner is brilliant, swift, full of I ife and motion. Its purpose is spiritual. It is lifted above anyone's head, above dust and confusion, for inspiration and guiding. Something of this character, I will with this article try to show by examples that the heraldic artist, if lucky, can translate in his or her work. First, we could though take a quick glance at the historical development of banners. The term banner approves, as we shall see, to a specific kind of flag, but in a wide sense of the word a banner is any ensign made of a peace of cloth, carried on a staff and with symbolic value to its owner(s). The profound nature of this innovation, which seem to be of oriental origin, makes it the mother of all kinds of flags. The etymologi cal root of the word banner is the French word banniere, derived from latin bandaria, bandum, which has German extraction, related to gothic bandwa, bandw6, 'sign'. 1 The birth of heraldry in the l2 h century Western world was preceded by centuries of use of early forms of banners, called gonfanons. From Bysantium to Normandy, everywhere in the Christian world, these ensigns usually were small rectangular lance flags with tai Is (Fig.

PRESS HANDBOOK Eurovision Choir 2019 Press, Delegation & Production Handbook DISTRIBUTION: Press, Delegations, Production Dear friends, It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the second edition of Eurovision Choir, here in Gothenburg. Those of us who were fortunate enough to be involved in the production during Latvian Television’s first edition in Riga hold many fond memories of launching Eurovision’s newest competition format. The show was spectacular, the choirs stunning and the music sublime. But what remains most strongly in my memory is the unique atmosphere of the backstage area around the show. I recall a festive atmosphere, almost a party, as nine choirs traded songs across the dressing room walls. And indeed, this is a festival – a festival of the beauty and diversity of choral singing in Europe, and of what can be achieved by joining our voices. So it seems true – singing is good for the soul. Thanks to those of you who have made the journey to attend Eurovision Choir 2019 in Gothenburg. Good luck to all the choirs taking part and enjoy the show! Jon Ola Sand Executive Supervisor, Eurovision Song Contest & Eurovision Live Events. • Glaciotectonic Structure and Genesis of the Herdla Moraines, Western Norway
Glaciotectonic structure and genesis of the Herdla Moraines, western Norway JAMES S. ABER & INGE AARSETH Aber, J. S. & Aarseth, 1.: Glaciotectonic structure and genesis of the Herdla Moraines, western Norway. Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift, Vol. 68, pp. 99-106. Oslo 1988. ISSN 0029-196X. At its type locality, glaciomarine sediment of the Herdla Moraines was deformed and consolidated by overriding ice. Two phases of moraine development took place in conjunction with ice movement coming first from the east-northeast and later from the southeast. The early phase is related to development of a local ice dome on Stølsheimen during the middle Younger Dryas (about 10,500 BP), when the ice sheet reached its late glacial maximum thickness in the region. The ice sheet then thinned rapidly, due to climatic amelioration and increased calving, and shifted to southeasterly movement at Herdla. Most glaciotectonic disturbance and consolidation of sediment at Herdla happened during this late phase, perhaps as a result of a glacier surge along Herdlafjord. The glaciotectonic structures at Herdla are local in character and cannot be used for regional correlation of glacial advances in western Norway. J. S. Aber, Earth Science Department, Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, 66801, USA; l. Aarseth, Universitetet i Bergen, Geologisk Institutt, Avd. B. A/legt, 41. N-5007 Bergen, Norway. Y ounger Dry as moraines of western Norway Aarseth & Mangerud (1974) defined the Herdla Moraines as a morphostratigraphic unit with a type locality at Herdla island (Fig. 1). Sediments of the Herdla Moraines are part of a conspicuous system of ice marginal deposits of Younger Dryas age (10,000-11,000 BP) that has been mapped around the periphery of southern and western Norway (Mangerud et al.

  • Høyring - Fredingsområde for Hummar I Aurland, Balestrand, Høyanger, Leikanger, Luster, Lærdal, Sogndal Og Vik Kommunar - Sogn Og Fjordane
Fredingsområda vert foreslått innført for 10 år.
