Bradshaw on Lou Henson Preseason All-American Team: Belmont senior guard Craig Bradshaw was the only OVC player on the Preseason Lou Henson Player of the Year Watch List as announced by CollegeInsider. com. The award is given to the top mid-major player in Division I basketball and named about the legendary coach who spent 41 years combined at Illinois and New Mexico State.

Loos is All-Time Winningest Coach in OVC History; Byrd Ranks 8th Among Active NCAA Coaches: With a 68-66 victory at Ohio on Dec. 9, 2009, Austin Peay head coach Dave Loos recorded his 320th career victory while in the OVC, a mark that ranks fi rst all-time. Loos passed Cal Luther (319 wins at Murray State and UT Martin) for the all-time mark. Loos, the Dean of OVC coaches, is now in his 26th year at Austin Peay. Loos now has 396 victories in his tenure at Austin Peay and 478 for his career. Belmont head coach Rick Byrd (who is in his fourth year in the OVC and 30th overall at Belmont) has 718 career victories, which ranks eighth among ac- tive Division I head coaches. Loos and Byrd are two of just six active Division I coaches to have coached at the same school for 25 or more years (the others are Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Oakland’s Greg Kampe and Davidson’s Bob McKillop).

OVC Men’s Hoops in Fourth Year of Divisional Play: For the fourth year the OVC will use divisional play for men’s basketball (the OVC women’s teams are not using divisional play anymore). The addition of Belmont Uni- versity on July 1, 2012 gave the OVC 12 member institutions, the largest the Conference has been since it was formed in 1948 (the OVC is currently the nation’s eighth-oldest Division I conference). The East Division includes Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech. The West Division includes Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, Southeast Missouri State, SIUE and UT Martin.

Former OVC Players in the NBA: There are currently fi ve former OVC players on NBA rosters. That ranks the

Team Notes Team Notes Austin Peay split a pair of road games last week in falling at North Florida but Belmont played three games last week, topping Ouachita Baptist at home before rebounding to top Lipscomb to mark its third road victory of the season...The Govs falling at Middle Tennessee and on a last second basket at Cleveland State... fi nished a fi ve-game road trip that stretched 4,900 miles with a 2-3 record...Chris The Bruins hit just 29.5 percent (23-of-78) from 3-point range in the three games Horton was named OVC Player of the Week after averaging 32.5 points, 15.0 including 4-of-18 (22.2%) by OVC Preseason Player of the Year Craig Bradshaw... rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 blocks/game and hitting 80.6 percent (29-of-36) from Mack Mercer came off the bench in all three games and averaged a team-high the fi eld...Horton recorded a pair of double-doubles to increase his season total to 13.7 points/game to go along with 6.7 rebounds and four total blocks...Junior 10, tops among all Division I players...Horton had 37 points on 16-of-17 shooting Evan Bradds had two double-doubles during the week to increase his season (the second best fi eld goal total in APSU history) at Lipscomb on Sunday; the 16 total to four (third for third in the OVC)...Bradds slipped to second nationally in made fi eld goals are the most by a Division I player this season...Horton had 28 fi eld goal percentage (71.1%) but is just .01 behind the national leader (who has points and 17 rebounds at North Florida to begin the week; he currently ranks 38 less attempts)...If the season was to end today Bradds would set the OVC fi rst nationally in offensive rebound (5.92/game) and second in total rebounding single-season fi eld goal percentage record...The Bruins rank fi rst in the OVC (13.5/game)...Horton enters the week needing just eight rebounds to become 15th in 3-pointers made (126) and second in scoring (81.2 points/game), fi eld goal player in OVC history with 1,000 career rebounds...Khalil Davis had a career-high percentage (48.8%) and assists (16.5/game)...After playing three games last nine assists in the win over Lipscomb...Freshman Jared Savage connected on week, Belmont does not play a game this week. The Bruins will not play again 5-of-10 3-pointers during the week...After just three points in the fi rst half Sunday until hosting Valparaiso on Monday, Dec. 28...That marks the second game of against Lipscomb, Josh Robinson rebounded to score 18 in the second half to the season between the teams as Valpo won 61-57 at home on Dec. 3...Belmont fi nish with 21 total points...The Govs rank second in the OVC in rebounding has played 10 of its fi rst 13 games this season away from home. Jarelle Reischel averaged 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals/ hit 6-of-7 (85.7%) 3-pointers in the game on his way to a team-high 19 points... game and hit 54.2 percent (13-of-24) from the fi eld, 50 percent (3-of-6) from Johnston, who led the OVC in 3-point percentage last year, has played well of 3-point range and 95 percent (19-of-20) from the foul line...He had 19 points, late and has 21 assists against only fi ve turnovers over his last fi ve games... seven rebounds, fi ve assists and fi ve steals against FAU and added 29 points, Junior newcomer Demetrius McReynolds returned to the lineup after missing six rebounds, three assists and two steals at ETSU...He ranks fi rst in the OVC several games and scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench... (and 37th nationally) in scoring (19.8 points/game) while also ranking fi rst in Freshman Patrick Muldoon added 10 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting...The the league in steals (2.2/game), second in 3-point percentage (52.6%), fi fth in Panthers rank third in the OVC in 3-point fi eld goal defense (31.4%)...Eastern rebounding (7.9/game) and assists (3.7/game), sixth in free throw percentage Illinois plays games in Las Vegas as part of the Global Sports Classic this week... Team Notes Team Notes Jacksonville State played just once last week in losing 77-60 at Loyola Marymount Morehead State saw a game on its schedule cancelled last week as winter weather last Friday...The Gamecocks were led by Malcolm Drumwright who scored 16 prohibited the team from reaching Eastern Washington for Thursday’s scheduled points and also grabbed three rebounds...Greg Tucker added 11 points and Jer- contest; instead the two teams will play a game next season...So the team’s only emy Watson had nine for JSU...Drumwright leads the team and ranks eighth in action of the week was a 60-52 victory over Western Carolina on Sunday at home, the OVC in scoring (15.2 points/game)...The Gamecocks rank fi rst in the OVC in as the team improved to 4-0 at Johnson Arena in 2015-16...Newcomer DeJuan assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2) and second in 3-point defense (31.1%) and turnover Marrero had 16 points and 13 rebounds to record his fi rst double-double of the margin (+2.8/game)...For the second-straight week Jacksonville State will play season; the junior hit 5-of-8 fi eld goals in 28 minutes of action and knocked down just one game as they host Northern Colorado on Monday night. two free throws with 38 seconds left to give the team a fi ve-point advantage... He was one of four players in double fi gures as Corban Collins added 12 points (and four assists) and Miguel Dicent and Brent Arrington each had 10 points... The team continues to be balanced as nine players are averaging between 11.8 and 3.8 points/game...The Eagles lead the OVC in scoring defense (60.3 points/ game), rebounding defense (30.4/game), steals (9.0/game), rebound margin (+7.1/game) and turnover margin (+2.8/game)...Morehead State will play at Davidson on Wednesday night in its only action of the week.

Team Notes Team Notes Tennessee Tech began last week with a road loss to in-state foe Chattanooga but UT Martin ran its winning streak to three games by topping Saint Louis (82-76) rebounded to best Miami (Ohio) to improve to 8-4 on the season...The Golden and Arkansas State (74-70) last week...In the win at Saint Louis fi ve players Eagles are now 7-0 at the Eblen Center this season and have won 16-straight scored in double fi gures as the team led by as many as 23 points at one point of home non-conference games...TTU is off to its best start since the 2001-02 sea- the second half...Junior Kedar Edwards had his fi rst career double-double in the son...The Golden Eagles trailed Miami (Ohio) by 12 points late in the fi rst half but game with 13 points and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench; he also had a Tech staged another comeback and outscored the RedHawks 30-16 down the 65-foot buzzer beater just before halftime that ended up as part of SportsCenter’s stretch...It marked the fourth comeback from a double-digit defi cit this season...
