Express Bantams host Guelph in Sunday gridiron action

There was a lot of back and forth action in the fi eld at Mel Mitchell Athletic Field on Sunday, June 23, when the TNT Express Bantam team hosted the Guelph Gryphons. The Gryphons got the jump on the action scoring in the fi rst quarter after making it to the ten-yard line. Back on defence, the Express put in a good effort to keep the Guelph team at mid fi eld. Defenceman, Justin Morris, Nolan Nicklasson, Dominic Plaunt, Austin Radzio, and Mitchell Rogers put in a solid performance. The Express fought back with a good run by Hunter Thom, but they had to give up the ball on downs. On the punt return, the Gryphon returned the ball for a TD. The fi rst half ended with Luca Pileggi knocking down a Guelph pass. The second half had the Guelph team on the two yard-line with the TNT defence stopping them on three attempts. Guelph scored on the fi nal attempt to take an 18 – 0 lead.
