Dodge and Ram brands are again providing support vehicles.

May 15, 2014, Windsor, - This weekend, when the green flag drops on another exciting season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Dodge and Mopar will again be on-track and in the pits in full support of Canada’s top stock car racing league.

Chrysler Canada and its vehicle brands have been an integral part of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) since its inception in 2007 and the CASCAR series which preceded it. Dodge is at the forefront as the official car of the Canadian series and, at every race, will again provide the official pace car – a Canadian-built Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition – alongside a Dodge Dart for track-side promotional efforts and a Dodge Grand Caravan 30th Anniversary Edition. The Ram Truck brand will supply a Ram 3500 as a safety vehicle.

“We are delighted to again extend our partnership with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series,” said Jim Kiritsis, Senior Manager, National Service and Parts, Chrysler Canada. “Our high-RPM support of motorsports results directly from the deep, performance-minded souls of the Dodge and Mopar brands in particular. We hope to help make the 2014 season that much more competitive and fun for the NCATS driver and of course, even more exciting for the fans.”

This season’s opening race takes place at the storied Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario. The ‘Pinty's presents the Clarington 200,’ will be Andrew Ranger’s first race as head driver for Team Mopar. The Roxton Pond, Quebec-born fan-favourite will be behind the wheel of the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge, built by the racing team of two-time NCATS champion, DJ Kennington.

Ranger, age 28, is no stranger to the NCATS circuit: he’s already won the Series’ Championship twice (2007 and 2009), run a total of 58 races with 11 poles, 50 top-10s finishes, 34 top-5s and 16 win.

Like Ranger, the majority of the 2014 NCATS competitors will be piloting Dodge Challenger-bodied racing cars. Of the 60 drivers who competed throughout the 2013 season, 42 were at the wheel of a Dodge. Every race last season was won by a Dodge driver, with 8 of the Top 10 final points positions held by Dodge drivers.

Beyond the sheetmetal, drivers can also elect to power their cars with a proven, race-winning Mopar 5.9-litre V8.

Contingencies are again being offered for the Dodge/Mopar Quick Three and Dodge/Mopar-powered Quick Three. Awarded after each race, they recognize the fastest drivers in Dodge-bodied cars and those using Mopar power under hood.
