Cyl. 4-6 The larger channel directs one exhaust stream to the outer edge of the turbine blades. – This causes the turbocharger to spin faster. The smaller channel directs the other exhaust stream to the inner surfaces of the turbine blades. – This improves turbocharger response. * Not the turbocharger from the actual vehicle IEEE Feature Presentation – November 2019 30 Valvetronic Click here for Valvetronic animation IEEE Feature Presentation – November 2019 31 Engine Basic Concepts Engine modular concept TVDI basic technology • Turbocharging • VALVETRONIC • Direct injection Technical properties • Heat management module (split cooling) • Exhaust manifold integrated in cylinder head • Characteristic map-controlled oil pump • LDS-coated cylinder barrels IEEE Feature Presentation – November 2019 32.
