GENERAL Page INF-4 S962 PASSENGER CAR PARTS CATALOG INFORMATION 1962 PASSENGER CAR MODEL DESIGNATION The following information will acquaint you with the model code system being used with the 1962 series vehicles. The year is identified by the letter "S" for 1962. Each car make is identified by the letters P for Plymouth,- V - Valiant, D - Dodge, L - Lancer, C - Chrysler, and Y for the Imperial. The various chassis for each make are identified by the numbers 1, 2 and 3. On the Plymouth No. 1 represents a 6 cylinder chassis and No. 2 an 8 cylinder chassis. CM the Valiant No. 1 represents a 6 cylinder chassis. On the Lancer No. 1 represents a 6 cylinder chassis. On the Dart No. 1 represents a 6 cylinder chassis and No. 2 an 8 cylinder chassis. On the Chrysler and Imperial the numbers 1, 2 and 3 indicate one of the various 8 cylinder chassis built. The last letter in the model code indicates the price class in which the particular model falls, as shown below.
