TestLab Oulu University Hospital Simulation environment Planning and Choices Should all teaching be in English for all students? - Only in English would be cost effective - How much is lost in translation? - The language skills are variable among Finnish students - Requirements for communication and terminology in Finnish clinical practice

Our decision: - Lectures 50 % in English for all students - Lectures 50% in Finnish with English video material and slides - Group sessions: A separate international group - Patient contacts: Finnish & International student -pairs

12 How to motivate the teachers?  All adjunct professors and professors fluent in English  A lot of work. Needs motivation.  Extra funding from the University was received, one more adjunct professor for the course

13 Lessons learned  EBM and eHealth were not popular among students  Student seek courses that can be accepted at home universities  Too unique courses such as eHealth or EBM are not well received  Our plan to revise International Semester - 30 ECTS Pediatrics & Gynecology in 2018 - Confirmed in February 2018
