  • Nude in Mexico
Feb. 1, 2004---- RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO -- The road is full of questions that inevitably lead to the beauty of travel. This is how I find myself leaning on a bar at the Moonlight disco at the Hidden Beach Resort-Au Naturel Club, the only upscale and not clothing- optional nudist resort in Mexico. A naked woman walks up to me and asks, "Is this your first naked experience?" Gee, how can she tell? I am standing in a corner of the bar that is under a shadow of doubt. About 20 naked couples have finished doing a limbo dance on a cool night along the Caribbean Sea. With the exception of a gentleman from Mexico, I am the only single guy in the disco. At this point, no one knows I am a journalist, but I am the only person in the room still wearing a bathrobe. It is too cold to be bold. Besides, I am so shy, I do not limbo with my clothes on. I barely ever go to clothed cocktail parties. My chipper friends are also mastering "The Macarena." Talk about your Polaroid moments. Cameras are not allowed at Hidden Beach. One dude is playing pool naked. Another guy looks like Jeff "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Garlin. His wife is applying for a job at Hidden Beach. He smiles and takes off his robe to join in a group dance to Marcia Griffith's "Electric Boogie." Nude tourists are more open and they bond faster. I have another shot of tequila. I am here for you. The nude recreation industry is news.

Research was conducted through a standpoint methodology which combines interviews, participant observation and the first hand experiences of the researcher. The interview data reveals nudists' belief in a social pre occupation with body ideals and the power structures created by some uses of clothing. The subjects in this research apply their ex periences in both the clothed world and the non-clothed world to ex pose the implications of the social structures of clothing which appear to effect interpersonal relationships, gender and disability, inequality, prejudice and ageism.

  • Award Winning Nudity? Kissimmee Woman Decorated for 30 Years of Promoting Clothing-Free Lifestyle
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE READY TO PRINT OR EDIT AS NEEDED CONTACT: Cypress Cove Marketing Department 407.933.5870 [email protected] Award winning nudity? Kissimmee woman decorated for 30 years of promoting clothing-free lifestyle KISSIMMEE, FL, July 22, 2020 Unbeknownst to many, the nudist movement in North America has been quietly and steadily growing since its introduction to our shores in the early 1900s. In recent years, there has even been a considerable uptick of interest and participation by newcomers to au natural recreation, thanks to the work of nudist proponents like Carolyn Hawkins, who recently received the nudist movement’s Hall of Fame Award recognizing her thirty years of promoting clothing-free living. It might be surprising to learn that such an award exists. After all, nudism is kind of a fringe lifestyle, right? Seriously. How many people even do this? Actually, quite a few, and you might even know someone. Nudism encompasses more than just a desire to throw off the shackles of clothing and with it our inhibitions. It is really a philosophy of living that prefers the freedom of a natural existence, no matter what you happen to be doing. “People do very normal things in the nude,” Hawkins says. “They skinny dip in their pools and hot tubs, clean the house, sleep nude, garden, and sun in the privacy of their own backyards. Then you have nude travel and vacations, going to nudist resorts, nude camping, hiking, and even nude cruises.” Hawkins, who lives and works at Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, has more than thirty years of experience explaining just why people would want to take off their clothes in mixed company.
