Many of the kids (both the younger ones and those around 60 years of age) enjoyed the overhead pulley slide that zipped a person at a pretty good speed over the lawn. Nice to know some kids never grow up. The Jacuzzi and indoor pool also got a lot of use, and the rope swing always seemed to have someone on it making a big splash into the deep end. Sometimes we have a guest speaker to discuss something of interest to the group, not necessarily about nudism (topics range from travelogues to dowsing to nudity in art exhibits to selling on eBay). This meeting is a great first-step for non-nudists who are curious and have questions about naturism, and it is a required orientation before non-members are invited to attend one of our regular monthly pool parties. Meals are “Dutch treat” at a local restaurant, so obviously this is a clothed event. We have reserved a room in the back at both locations. Your RSVP is not necessary, but appreciated: call (818) 225-2273. VENTURA/SANTA BARBARA- Always the second Friday of each month. SCNANewsletterforJuly2009 Page4of12 ACTIVITIES JULY, 2009 HOW MEMBERS CAN PAY FOR EVENTS ON-LINE Members can now pay for club events and their annual membership renewals on line at the Member’s Section of the SCNA web site. But there is a catch: you have to use the designated user name and password that we distribute to the membership at the beginning of each month via email in the announcement that the newsletter for that month is available for viewing. For security reasons, this name and password changes each month. Non members (and members also) may pay for events as we have always done it, with credit card numbers given to us over the telephone (never send your card number in email or in a telephone message). We will process it through out Merchant Account, but this option can only accept MasterCard and VISA cards. SATURDAY JULY 18, NORTHRIDGE ANNUAL MEMBER’S MEETING, ELECTIONS, AND POOL PARTY MEETING IS FREE TO MEMBERS NOON-2PM: ANNUAL MEMBERS MEETING AND BOARD ELECTIONS Open to members only, there is no charge to attend. We will elect a new Board of Directors for the coming year. THE PARTY STARTS AT 2PM PARTY ONLY: $10.00/MEMBERS & $15.00/NON-MEMBERS YOUTH DISCOUNT! AGES 18-25: $5/PERSON Guests and Non-Members are encouraged to arrive at 2pm after the Member’s Meeting. If a non member arrives before 2PM he/she will be asked to sit on the far side of the yard in the pool area until the meeting concludes. THURSDAY - SUNDAY JULY 30 – AUGUST 2 AANR WEST ANNUAL CONVENTION LAGUNA DEL SOL, SACRAMENTO, CA This is the annual gathering of west coast AANR club delegates (mostly representing the parks and resorts). SCNA delegates will participate in several of the meetings (Marketing, Government Affairs, etc). Laguna del Sol is a lovely park located just south of Sacramento, with a nice restaurant if you have never been there.
