Spain Voted Number One for Nude Beaches France First for Bare Resorts Nude beach opinion poll Press release 27 June 2008 Executive summary UK naturists say: • Spain is number one for nude beaches • The best naturist resorts are in France • The best beach for first-time nudists is Vera Playa in Spain; in the UK it's Studland Bay • Europe's best nude beach is at the French naturist resort of Cap d'Agde • Top islands for bare bathing are Fuerteventura (Canaries) and Formentera (Balearices) Issued by Lifestyle Press Ltd, publisher of 'The World's Best Nude Beaches and Resorts' Spain voted number one for nude beaches Spain and the Spanish islands have Europe's best nude beaches, according to a survey of Britain's naturist Q1. "Perhaps UK naturists are slightly unadventurous when it comes to picking their holiday destinations. All 10 of these countries do actually have well-known naturist beaches or resorts. There's a whole world waiting to be explored by those who enjoy wearing their birthday suits on the beach," said Nick Mayhew. It may be that UK naturists are not quite so active in visiting beaches generally. Most (54%) expect to visit only three beaches or fewer in the coming year.     7.8.19 - Religion and Nudism…Are They Compatible? This is a question we received recently that needs a rather lengthy explanation. We will spend some time initially defining words so that we can give an answer that will not be misunderstood. Nudism: the practice of going nude, often as a group lifestyle and typically in a private setting, as in a person's home or a designated area of a beach or park. Webster's New World College Dictionary, Fifth Edition Copyright © 2014 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company - This word carries a negative connotation, but I was unable with a short search to find one with that connotation. An author I read recently chose not to use that word because the word nudism implied exhibitionism so he used the word nakedness in its place. We prefer the word naturism, but the important part is what we are discussing. For the sake of this article we will be using all three words to mean family friendly non sexual nakedness where allowed. Religion: the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. More a particular system of faith and worship. The first part of this definition is what the person probably had in mind, but the last part could include Evolution and Humanism. We even need to be careful that we do not turn naturism into a religion. None of this definition would rule out naturism, so yes…you can be religious and a nudist. I am guessing that the person with the question would consider Christianity and religion synonyms.
