PAUL SHAFFER & THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS BAND ON TOUR FOR THE FIRST TIME Special Guest: Valerie Simpson The multi-talented Paul Shaffer, with The World’s Most Dangerous Band, in tow, continues his first ever North American tour. The show features special guest vocalist Valerie Simpson along with Paul's former "Late Show" bandmates. The set list includes such crowd favorites as Ain't No Mountain High Enough, It's Raining Men, and Solid, along with a James Brown tribute and a Michael Jackson medley. Cities include Nashville, FL;, Immokalee, FL; Atlanta, GA; Kettering, OH; Beverly Hills, CA; Interlochen,MI; St. Charles, IL and Burnsville, MN. After performing on national TV five nights a week for more than three decades with David Letterman, Paul really missed playing in front of an audience. What better reason to hit the road than to support his latest Sire Records album, Paul Shaffer & The World’s Most Dangerous Band (which features appearances by Bill Murray, Jenny Lewis, Shaggy, Darius Rucker, Dion and, of course, Valerie Simpson). "We loved playing for millions of television viewers each week," says Shaffer. "Now, we're so happy to be together again out on the road and the fans are loving it!" David Letterman coined the name "The World’s Most Dangerous Band" in the early days of NBC's “Late Night". After the move from NBC, the band became "The CBS Orchestra". The core lineup of Will, Sid, and Anton remained intact, with Paul adding Felicia Collins on guitar and the horn section. For both the new album and tour, he decided it was high time to revive the band's iconic "dangerous" moniker. Grammy® winner and four-time Emmy® nominee Paul Shaffer has been beloved by audiences since his early days on the first five seasons of Saturday Night Live, and throughout his 33 years as David Letterman's musical director and sidekick. Shaffer has also served as musical director for dozens of projects, including The Blues Brothers, Paul McCartney's 9/11 "Concert for America", and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's annual induction ceremony. In addition to recording his own albums, he's recorded with such diverse artists as Diana Ross, Yoko Ono, and Robert Plant. # # # Contact: Judy Twersky Judy Twersky Public Relations, Inc. / (917) 597-5384 [email protected] .
