Compendium of Media Clippings and Communication Campaigns on COVID-19 Prepared by: NTPC Corporate Communications (01.05.2020-15.05.2020) 1 Film on measures taken by NTPC for continuous power supply NTPC is always committed to provide continuous power to the country. Complying with all the Govt. guidelines related to lock-down and social distancing, our Power Stations are operating continuously with requisite number of manpower. All our projects hospitals have been geared to handle the situation and related equipment and PPEs are being procured. Our site management is in touch with Local /State Authorities and we are extending requisite support. Many activities are being undertaken by NTPC units to support the stakeholders. Further details are covered in this report. We have also harnessed the power of communication to raise awareness about the virus with elaborate Do’s and Don’ts through series of creative on social media. We are also spreading the word about high level of preparedness at NTPC’s hospitals, which have been converted into dedicated COVID units. 2 NTPC is always committed towards the environment and sustainability. It is a part of what we do every day, which is why NTPC consider economic, environmental and social aspects in every processes. Many media organizations rely on advertisements as their main source of revenue, making them vulnerable to interference from advertisers. In India, the Government is a major advertiser in newspapers. Interviews with journalists sug- gest that governments in India actively interfere in working of the press, through both economic blackmail and misuse of regulation. However, it is difficult to gauge the media bias that results due to government pressure. This paper determines a newspaper's bias based on the change in advertising spend share per newspa- per before and after 2014 general election.

This could force migrants to travel during the pandemic, exposing them to health risks and accelerating the spread of the virus. Anecdotal evidence demonstrates the importance of enforcing food security policies to tide the crisis. However, the effects of these policies on containing mobility during the crisis remain unknown. Using mobility data from Facebook, we demonstrate that a policy to guarantee food security that has attracted attention from the Supreme Court of India— portable ration cards—is related to lower mobility during India’s COVID-19 lockdown. Intra-state portable ration cards, which give migrants access to food when they move within their state, are associated with 12% lower intra-state mobility.
