The Village Gallery

The Village Gallery founded in 1989 by Dolly Narang has the distinction of holding innovative and unique exhibitions, which have been critically acclaimed. It has exhibited the works of eminent masters such as M. F. Husain, Ganesh Pyne, Paritosh Sen as well as the illustrations and film sketches of the late (during his lifetime).

Our group shows have included the works of Sakti Burman, Arpana Caur, , , M.F. Husain, , Nalini Malani, , , , Ganesh Pyne, S.H Raza, Krishna Reddy, Paritosh Sen, , Shamshad, Gulammohammed Sheikh, Nillima Sheikh, Anupam Sud, Vivan Sundram and others.

Our efforts are also directed towards encouraging upcoming artists and do our best towards promoting their works not only from the commercial angle.

1997-98 NOOR GANDHI KA – MERI NAZAR MEIN (Gandhi Through My Eyes) by HAKU SHAH Exhibition of Mixed Media Works using materials such as rags , khadi, husk, grass, handspun thread etc. which were dear to , New Delhi and Durban Art Gallery, South Africa.

1999 ESCAPE OF THE SPIRIT, Monoprints by Indian Women Prison Inmates at Gallery Tom , Tokyo, Japan. 2000 NOOR GANDHI KA MERI NAZER MEIN (Gandhi Through My Eyes) by Haku Shah was invited to Cymroza Art gallery, Bombay. 2003 ‘Wash Paintings and Drawings’ ,50 Years of works from 1950 to 2002 by Maniklal Chatterjee. 2003 ‘CELEBRATION OF LIFE’, Exhibition of paintings by 21 eminent artists in Collaboration with UNDP Regional HIV and Development Programme and Sahara. Art camp bringing together leading artists of India to work on their respective medium on the celebration of life by people living HIV/AIDS.
