Laboratoire pour l'Utilisation des Lasers Intenses Unité Mixte de Recherche n° 100 CNRS - Ecole Polytechnique - Université Paris VI EC Training and Mobility of Researchers Programme Access to Large-Scale Facilities Call for Proposals Laboratoire pour l'Utilisation des lasers Intenses The Laboratoire pour l'Utilisation des Lasers Intenses (LULI) operates at Ecole Polytechnique one of the Europe’s premier laser facilities for research related to Inertial Confinement Fusion, X-ray laser and applications, Particle Acceleration using lasers, and basic Plasma physics research and applications. Facilities include a 6-beam 0.6 kilojoule, 0.6 ns Nd glass laser and a subpicosecond chirped pulse amplification line with a few tens of terawatt capability. Beams are transported into 5 different experimental rooms allowing various experimental con­ figurations. Applications for beam time at LULI in the period of 1 st January to 31 st December 1997 are invited from research teams con­ ducting their research within the Member States of the Community and Associated States (Iceland, Norway and Liechten­ stein). Proposals will be selected on the basis of scientific merit by an independent peer review panel. Successful applicants will be allocated facility access free of charge, including all infrastructural, logistical, technical and scientific support.
