Incredible nature and wildlife encounters. Cultural experiences. Valuable learning opportunities. It’s all waiting for you to experience on an unforgettable cruise and land journey through the Southern Hemisphere and Antarctica. Our Adventure from Cape Horn to Antarctica includes a 13-day cruise aboard the MS Midnatsol, a 500-passenger ship designed for polar waters. Begin your journey at the base of the Andes with a two night stay in Santiago, Chile, one of Latin America’s most historical and architecturally significant cities. Just a short drive to the south, visit the wine region of Colchagua Valley, an area known for producing some of the country’s finest wines. The famous Magellan Strait and Beagle Channel beckon as we depart by air from Santiago and arrive in Punta Arenas to begin our cruise. Formidable fjords, channels, and mountains that plunge into the icy waters will greet our roving eyes. It’s a land mostly undisturbed by man. Leave the Chilean fjords and sail to Cape Horn, the southernmost point of South America. On board, be treated to sumptuous cuisine, daily activities, and lectures on various aspects of the continent. Antarctica is teeming with whales, seals, hundreds of thousands of penguins, and icebergs that can be the size of office buildings. Head out in kayaks and zodiacs for more up close encounters with nature and wildlife or to visit old whaling stations and research bases. Each day presents a new adventure. Don’t miss out.
