Musicians from Abroad and Their World Renowned Czech Counterparts to Pay Tribute to One of the Greatest Musical Geniuses during the Dvořák Prague Festival Prague, 28 March 2017 – The Dvořák Prague International Music Festival has unveiled the program and began advance sale of tickets for the 10th anniversary season. The event, which bears the name of one of the greatest music composers, will showcase renowned soloists and some of the world's best orchestras and conductors during 7-23 September 2017. Apart from Antonín Dvořák's well- and lesser-known works, the festival will present the music of other composers from different eras. The event will feature star vocalists from the Metropolitan Opera and other prestigious establishments, such as Kristine Opolais, Piotr Beczala, René Pape, Michael Spyres, Adam Plachetka, and Jan Martiník. World-renowned orchestras performing at the festival will include the London Philharmonic Orchestra with chief conductor Vladimir Jurowski and the Essen Philharmonic with conductor Tomáš Netopil, who will also conduct the Vienna Symphony in the closing concert. An extraordinary experience will be a performance delivered by conductor Ingo Metzmacher and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, which will feature French piano virtuoso Jean-Yves Thibaudet. The program will include the festival's orchestra in residence, the Czech Philharmonic with conductor Jiří Bělohlávek, the Prague Philharmonia (PKF), and such leading vocal ensembles as the Prague Philharmonic Choir and the Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno. New Year's Concert in St. Vaclav church in Dobruska Sunday 2nd January 2011 at 3 pm Soloists: Iva Kramperova – Violin Pavel Svoboda – Organ Program: Dietrich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Georg Muffat, Jan Jiri Benda and Antonio Vivaldi About artists: Violinist Iva Kramperova graduated at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, cooperates with famous soloists (Vaclav Hudecek, Ivan Zenaty, Jiri Stivin, Barbara Maria Willi, Radek Baborak etc.) and is Professor at the Conservatory of Pardubice. Iva Kramperova studied at the Music Faculty of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Prof. Ivan Straus, Leos Cepický), has attended various workshops in the Czech Republic and abroad (France - Régis Pasquier). She was awarded the prize of the foundation Český hudební fond (Czech Music Fund) for the best performance of contemporary music, she is laureate of Leos Janacek International Music Competition in Brno, Competition of Conservatories of the Czech Republic, Beethoven’s Hradec International Music Competition. She received the prize of the mayor of the city of Pardubice for her excellent study results and scholarship of Yamaha Company. She is the concert master and soloist of Barocco sempre giovane. With this ensemble she has performed at hundreds of concerts (including of International Music Festival Prague Spring). She makes CD recordings, as well as those for the Czech Radio and the Czech Television. She performs at music festivals including concerts for Office of the President of the Czech Republic. Pavel Svoboda (*1987) is one of the most successful young Czech organists. He began to study the organ at the Conservatory of Pardubice (Josef Rafaja, Vaclav Rabas), has attended various workshops at famous organists (Susan Landale, Martin Sander, Theo Jellema, and others) and since 2008, he has been studying at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague at Jaroslav T ůma and since 2010 at the Berlin University of Arts at Leo van Doeselaar. -
